Insurrection in Chicago - Chicago police ordered to ignore Border Patrol agents’ plea for help while surrounded by angry mob of protesters

Wow, a 300 lb scooter in front of a 4000 lb vehicle midday on a busy street in slow traffic. Real big threat, I got an idea, let’s drop tear gas in front of a bunch of children outside an elementary school..
These scumbags gassed the Chicago police

Your mayor is a clown.

Just spinning now! Making up more shit?

ICE brought this on themselves when they tear gassed the police.

The Chief of Police in Chicago do not think that. The Police are on the side of ICE and denounce the illegal violence done onto ICE by those who chose to break the law. ICE had the right to use gas, and it's unfortunate that the some police suffered from the effects of the gas, but understand the police sided with ICE during this recent event, where ICE was blocked in by cars.

Sounds like treason. Lock him up.

This is the sort of chaos that Trump is hoping to drum up. He's going to use it as an excuse to delve into Trump Law, using the military against the People so he can reign with ultimate power.

Chicago police ordered to ignore Border Patrol agents’ plea for help while surrounded by angry mob of protesters (link). Is this really happening? Do those giving the "orders" not believe that they are in the U.S.? Whether those under attack are ICE agents or "Joe Blow" is it legal for mobs to attack American citizens? Excerpt:
The New York Post lacks credibility;

Overall, we rate the New York Post on the far right end of the Right-Center Bias spectrum due to its story selection, which typically favors the Right, and Mixed (borderline questionable) for factual reporting, based on several failed fact checks.

Because they're humans, with rights.
😂

Tell them to treat OTHER humans with dignity
You're only telling yourself that as a means to justify your rather callous views on their safety.
my eyes have seen enough videos to allow me to arrive at the conclusion I have.

When meal team 6 want to start acting like respectable officers of the law, they’ll be afforded the respect.

They’re acting like a bunch of overweight school yard bullies with badges. They get the respect their behavior earns them.

When they stop unlawfully entering buildings at 2:00am and zip-tying children together, they will deserve to be considered.

These ****ers, gassed the Chicago police

You are way behind in the news. Keep up.

The Chief of Police of Chicago said ICE agents were illegally blocked by violent protestors, and what's more he never gave the order to the Police to not respond to that particular unlawfulness. That order came from someone else without authority.
Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling's Statements

In a press conference on October 6, 2025, at Chicago Police Department headquarters, Superintendent Larry Snelling addressed the events directly. He confirmed that the actions against the ICE agents—being boxed in by vehicles—constituted a crime and that it was "reasonable for agents to believe they were being ambushed." Snelling described the blocking as illegal and unlawful, aligning with reports of violent protesters escalating tensions by surrounding federal vehicles and attempting to ram them. He emphasized that Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers were already on the scene for the multiple incidents, handling public safety and traffic control, and that no additional response was needed from dispatched units.

Regarding the order not to respond, Snelling explicitly denied issuing or authorizing any "stand down" directive, stating, "I would never tell our officers to stand down." He rejected claims that CPD abandoned the federal agents, noting that 27 CPD officers were even affected by chemical agents deployed by ICE during the weekend protests. Snelling attributed any perceived delay to policy under the Illinois Trust Act, which limits local cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, but maintained that officers would always respond to threats of physical harm.

Multiple sources, including dispatch audio reviewed by media outlets, indicate that an internal CPD communication from the Chief of Patrol instructed officers: "No units will respond to this." Ranking CPD sources described the department's official denial as misleading, claiming audio evidence shows officers were forced to leave the area due to this directive.

Snelling did not directly address the Chief of Patrol's role in his remarks but distanced himself from the decision, implying it stemmed from supervisory determinations under city law rather than his personal order.

Critics, including the National Fraternal Order of Police, have condemned the non-response as a "shocking violation" of law enforcement solidarity, with some attributing ultimate responsibility to Mayor Brandon Johnson, a political appointee of whom Snelling is, for enforcing non-cooperation policies. Whether the Chief of Patrol acted "without authority" remains disputed, as it appears tied to established city and state guidelines on immigration enforcement.
Mayor Brandon Johnson, clown mayor of Chicago
This situation highlights ongoing tensions between local and federal authorities in Chicago, exacerbated by the Trump administration's aggressive deportation efforts and local resistance. Federal officials, including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, have decried the lack of support, leading to threats of National Guard deployment, which Illinois and Chicago are challenging in court as an unlawful "invasion."

This. It's why he's an idiot. None of this ends well, because a part of the miscalculation is using force is seen as the solution. Elect a person with an inferiority complex is how you get this kind of ridiculous mentality.

These new "ICE free zones" can join the other lawless neighborhoods under the good mayor's administrative oversight.

With 22 shootings and 29 victims just this past weekend in Chicago, they'll show those thugs in Washington at thing or two about things being out of control.

BREAKING: Dispatch audio CONFIRMS Chicago police were ORDERED not to assist Federal Agents that were cornered earlier today in Chicago. Agents were ACTIVELY IN ROUTE when the order was given. Dispatcher initially seemed slightly taken back by the order, but promptly relayed the message to all responding units.

Good.
