I'm not sure how much that matters, given many healthy employees choose to not take advantage of their employer plans.
My own employer has awesome benefits besides health care and I feel crazy not to take advantage of every one of them, but they all have some cost, so I can't take them all.
usually employee group plans are a form of compensation, with the employer footing a percentage of the bill. This isn't the case here where the full value of the plan will need to be covered by those healthy individuals
Only if it's above a certain amount. This will mainly effect union health care plans, not your typical employer plan.
And Dr. Chuckles, you're right, obviously when you reduce the cost of something, there's more demand, when you increase it, there's less. Which might be why a recent Pew poll found that 31% of the uninsured have no interest in the exchanges.

Exchange participation, by full paying, healthy adults, has been a real persistent issue in Massachusetts for obvious reasons
What is even more insidious here, is that from what I understand, that portion that the employer pays as compensation will start to be taxed next year, as income....
Q: My tax professional told me that my employer-paid health care plan will now be taxed as part of my income. Is this true?
A: Employer-provided insurance, in general, is still not included as taxable income, says Mark Luscombe of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting. There have been some exceptions — one example is health insurance for domestic partners up until the recent Supreme Court decision overturning Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act. There have been some tax reform proposals to eliminate the exclusion for employer-provided health insurance, but they have not been enacted as of yet.
This is the overwhelming proof of Obama's lack of management skills. we are told for example, "experts" are working on a fix for the computer problems people are experiencing trying to log on to the site. Is it unreasonable to ask where were the "experts" when this mess was being set up? If this were a company the top mangers would all be fired. Did they not anticipate this??!! This is the equivalent to building a billion dollar sports area and a parking lot for one thousand cars. If you were in the conference meetings held during the creation of this would you not speak up and question "why" the program is not being set up to handle an avalanche of applicants? Who gets hurt here? The politicians? Of course not.
What is even more insidious here, is that from what I understand, that portion that the employer pays as compensation will start to be taxed next year, as income....So peoples taxes go up as well..Then if the employer decides that they will drop the plan for cost reasons, as has happened, I am sure that most employers will not increase their workers pay by a like amount....
So, those workers, thanks to Obama, and the demo party will less spendable income, higher taxes, and crappier insurance. Good Job libs....I guess in liberal la la land that is counted as success.
From what I understand, we've been told a whole lot of things about the ACA that don't happen to be true. Is it true that employers can no longer deduct the amount they spend on health care for employees? Really? That sounds so illogical, so counter productive, and so downright stupid that it sounds more like an internet rumor than a real part of the ACA. Can you cite the chapter and verse in the law that states this?
You shouldn't bother with any whines that are based on "from what I understand". Usually such claims are based on the only thing the posters understands which is that they hate Obama and will believe anything that sounds bad about anything he's done.
Case in point is j-mac's claim. There's nothing true about it but he believes it anyway
OK, j-mac, sounds like the cards are on the table, the bets are in, what do you have?
Post 232 (look above) already refuted j-macs claim
Take the source or leave it, but here is an explanation of that:

So it would seem (given the bolded part) that this has not happened yet.
So There have been some tax reform proposals to eliminate the exclusion for employer-provided health insurance, but they have not been enacted as of yet.
And yet Obama care is off and crawling. Shouldn't these positions have already been clarified before it was allegedly put into place?

No...
I'm sorry that you can't remember from page to page, from day to day, what you posted. What is really sad is that even when your own words are presently presented, you still deny your own words.
I hope things get better for you.
Good luck.
That's going to leave a mark on gimmesometruth
Yes, there have been proposals. There have also been proposals to do lots of things that never gain any traction as well.
They are clarified, however, lawmakers can choose what they want to try and implement ANY time. If Obamacare is a total flop, they still can state proposals for this to happen.
The point being is that it isn't in effect, nor have there been any proposals that have gained traction.
It doesn't seem to me that this legislation should proceed, as it began, as an article of faith.
