What about instead of banning the confederate flag they put any group waving one on the jumbo tron and announce them as a group they hate..


For example:

“Everyone give a big nascar welcome to the southern Indiana gay rights coalition! Look at them wave their gay little flags proudly!”

“And 2 sections to the left let’s not forget about the Muslims for a kinder shirts! Give them a round of applause too!”


And added homophobia or racism will be well worth it for all the times some guy tries to get his son to wear a confederate flag t-shirt and he says,

“I am not wearing that gay flag dad!”

In all seriousness, is it your suggestion to associate gay people and Muslims with the Confederate Battle Flag as a symbol? Isn't that like Jews adopting the black on white upon a red field Swastika flag as the symbol of international Jewish solidarity? You may be muddying the meaning of the symbol, but you are not erasing the underlying hatred.
