The stupid in the country continue to get rolled by the carnival barker.

Trump announces tariffs on Mexico starting June 10 if it doesn't slow flow of migrants

Funny thing here is that it's usually Trump voters who buy the cheap **** from places like WalMart. The progressives, like me, the wife and our friends, all go out of our way to buy American made and/or from small businesses.

So, yes. This new tax will mostly hit the people who voted for him.

Suckers are truly born every minute.
 
The tightest concentration of Trump voters at any place on the planet is Walmart's adult diaper aisle. They'd rather drop a load in their shorts than admit that Trump is conning them.

We thought they reached peak-stupid when they foisted "W" on the country. But, then they found Palin, and followed her up with this thing called the "Freedumb Caucus, which is anything but being about freedom.

And, now they found their Dear Leader, a drink your Kool Aid demanding conman like James Jones, if ever there was one.
 
Cue all the excuses about how in a roundabout way due to some super-duper economic voodoo, this really does mean Mexico's paying for it and Americans will get back every last cent.

It usually comes in the form of some ad-hominem thinly hidden inside a non-sequitur that pretends to give a cryptic answer that only the clued in will understand, rather like this:

Show's the value of an American free trade agreement. The same as the paper it's written on.

I watched the Town Hall with Senator Michael Bennet on CNN tonight. He's my top pick candidate so far but unfortunately it seems as though many have already picked the ones that are high in the polls. I don't think Michael Bennet has been visible enough. I have liked him from the start and have read his entire manifesto which is available online. I like his plans on health care, education, disaster relief, the environment, etc. I particularly like his response when asked who he would call if he was elected as President. He said the first call would be to our European allies to tell them 'we're open for business once again because we realize how important those alliances are to freedom in the world' .

To the point of the thread which basically is illegal immigration... He was asked this question tonight at the Town Hall regarding what he'd do if he was president about the problem of people fleeing Central America to get to the US. He said the third phone call he'd make would be to the heads of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico and invite them to Washington or he would go there and say "we need to help you solve the problems in your countries so that we could end the kind of refugee crisis that's led to the American government, in the name of the American people, separating children from their families at the border of the United States of America. That should never happen again, it never can happen again."

In what world would that have anything to do with Mexico paying for a wall?

Apparently his supporters imagine Mexico scratching a check for every item that crosses the border. They are that dumb.
 



Don't worry, the BILLIONS we have spent on border wall, border security are working(LOL)
 

Along with tariffs the US needs to find a way to tax the hell out of electronic money transfers back to Mexico, some 26 billion per year. It really is time to take the gloves off with Mexico. They have gone from ignoring the immigration issues to enabling and are now directly supporting it.
