Influential US evangelical leader James Dobson dies aged 89

Good riddance to this homophobic, child-abuse-endorsing piece of trash. 🖕
I am not a fan. He is one of the people corrupted the church and state with his lust for personal political power, pervertedly justifying such to the rest of the evangelical community. Thorough history, when ever church and state danced together, each came away dirtier (more corrupt). A lot of the evangelical corruption can be laid at his feet.

May the Lord have mercy on his soul.

We're all responsible for our actions and how we're remembered. I hope my death will be remembered as someone whose good works outnumbered my failings, and that my memory may be a blessing.

No. May the Lord judge him accordingly.

What matters most, IMO, is how one honestly assess themself at the end of their life.

More importantly, the deeds one does throughout their lives. People (in most cases) aren't defined by their worst mistake, but I judge people by what they do/don't do more than whatever their death-bed moments of reckoning are.
