This will be interesting and a majority vote is required for each witness called.
Graham changed his vote from no to yes

The Senate voted Saturday to allow witnesses to be called in Donald Trump’s historic subpoena trial, delaying the timetable for reaching a verdict on whether the former president bears responsibility for his role in the violent takeover of the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Lead impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) said he wants to subpoena Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.), who said in a statement Friday night that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told her that Trump had expressed sympathy for the mob during a heated phone call between the two as the Jan. 6 attack was unfolding

Sounds to me like the GOP was just a little too cynical for it’s own good. Maybe next time stick to just signaling your bad faith vs outright declaring it.

Seeing how unprepared for the trial, this throws a monkey wrench into them
Now who will they call?
This could go on for another week or more
Needless to say times will get interesting

With the new revelations from yesterday, I’m thrilled the managers want to call witnesses. I want to see what the witness list is going to look like. Will they ask for Pence to come, will Tuberville ‘take the stand’ so we can hear what Trump really said? Will McCarthy come and talk about the shouting match he had???

They called their bluff. NO idea where it goes. And don’t care. I’m kind of enjoying the Dems actually doing stuff that makes sense and helps both the country and them politically. It’s refreshing!

Bravo to the Democrats for showing a deeper backbone during this pro Trump impeachment trial that had an acquittal decision for Trump baked into it. Actual witness's testimony will be on the record here on out. I give a (y)(y)(y)(y)

I think that the House Managers will limit the witnesses to those who will come willingly without a court subpoena. Witnesses like Herrera Beutler.

McArthy, Mark Meadows and Short would likely refuse a request and it would just be a time waster. As far as the Clown Train Trump's defense, who the hell could they possibly call that would have any evidence that could help Trump?

CNN is reporting that the managers are going to see if Pence’s chief of staff will come testify - DO IT!!

This will clarify the timeline, for Trump supporters that Trump was fully aware that Pence was in danger

What are they doing which is helping the country?

Nobody was interested in your thoughts to begin with. Trumpers are living in an alternate reality.
TDS is real

In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. The president-elect’s every tweet provokes a firestorm, as if 140 characters were all it took to change the world.”
“The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victim’s vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting solely of hyperbole.”
“As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality

If conservatives didn't have vice signalling ...

Kevin McCarthy should be the first witness.

Yep. The content of the call between him and Trump would be interesting to address. If what I've read is accurate, then the comments Trump made to McCarthy don't bode well for Trump. Even without the content of the call, the way the whole thing went down and the fact Trump was watching and did nothing to attempt to call the crowd off is bad enough, but this just further reinforces the point that the actions by the rioters were an expected result.

From a Trump supporter perspective, I wouldn't be too happy knowing Trump said he'd be marching with them but instead went to a viewing station while he watched others fight his battle.

TDS now applies to conservatives. Qballs are the worse cases.

Dang, I'd hoped it would be over today. I suppose this means this will continue into next week. Dumb move in my opinion by Trump's lawyers. A vote today would have acquitted Trump. I don't expect any thing to change whether the vote is held an hour from now, next week or next month or next year. It seems to me 95 senators have their minds made up, written in stone, why delay it?

Trumps lawyers open up a can of worms by stating Trump was not aware of any danger to Pence

Good. Let's find out what was really happening inside the White House while the siege was going on and Trump was not to be found.

What will the history books say about his era do you suppose?
What will come out over the next few years will be devastating for not only Trump

In that witnesses may well provide new information that will bear directly on the trial, the decision by Senator Addison McConnell yesterday to vote to acquit Mr. Donald Trump may stand in contrast to the oath Senator McConnell took, along with all of the other senators, at the trial's beginning.

Regards, stay safe 'n well.

This whole process feels like watching someone rub a dog's nose in its poop to teach it a lesson, despite knowing the dog doesn't really mind having its nose rubbed in its poop.
:)

By the same token, I don't see how Congress can let a situation like what happened on 1/6 go without some kind of repercussion.
