Note
Georgia was not to protect Russian speakers, but South Ossetia, which has been run as an independent state for 15+ years
As for Ukraine, Donbass and potential a potential Russian counter offensive. I doubt the US would get directly involved. That area is strategically important to Russia, and it would be very unlikely to back down from its course of action. Meaning it would not retreat in the face of US military action (doing so would end Putin's term in office). Resulting in a real war, probably leading to the use of nuclear weapons as a result. The Ukraine is not that important to the US. The only US interest in the Ukraine has been to weaken Russia by pulling the Ukraine from it politically and economically
Which means more sanctions which Putin/Russia can live with
Do you really think Putin would ever be desperate enough to start a nuclear war?
Since when were we "illegally" in UKRAINE?
And Syria and Libya are not UKRAINE...
Please try again.

Since the USA/CIA/NED financed and organized the illegal Coup d'Etat.

Looks like 2 and 3 don't approve of the illegal Coup d'Etat. I don't either. Ukraine had always been a financial liability to Russia. Now it is a financial liability of the USA, except for the 2 and 3 that didn't approve of the Coup d'Etat. They'd rather live in poverty with Russian aid than live under Poroshenko's regime. It's not complicated.

Do you think that Russia would prefer to capitulate to the US under armed attack?
Rather then destroy themselves utterly by lobbing nukes at us, with the surety that we'll retsliate? Yes, I do think Russia would rather capitulate. Putin is a muderous thug, but he's a very SMART thug. He knows full well that aside from nukes, his military is no match for ours. The only equipment Russia exceeds us in is the number and variety of tanks, and they don't fly.
Sabre rattling (or dick waving, if you prefer) aside, Putin isn't that foolish. Trump, on the other hand ...
Did you stop to think that assured destruction works both way?
You start a conflict with Russia, you won't know if it will lead to the destruction of US cities, the death of America.
A chance worth taking? No.
Depends on the circumstances, such as where and when. However, as long as we have an incompetent fool in the White House, let's hope it doesn't come to blows.
It's very specific intel. It's expected to start on about Dec 25.

How is that Ukraine Christmas offensive in the Mariupol region coming along Westphalian?
Has Novoazovs'k (marker below) been liberated yet?
Kiev may change its plans for a number of reasons - they're not daft.
You know how it works ........ it's a game designed to probe, to test ....... the offensive will come but the DPR's current force positions may not be favorable.
:rofl
I just love demonstrating your Kremlin disinformation to the good folks here and our guests.
Says the man who has started or vigorously contributed to several threads about an imminent Russian invasion.

The difference is that I use credible international news sources. You use mouthpieces.
You use RT, Sputnik, and TASS. All owned and managed by the Kremlin. Official state disinformation.
I just browsed this morning. Zakharova (Russian Foreign Ministry shill) is still saying a Ukraine invasion (of their own land Maria?) is imminent.
Month-in and month-out it's the same Kremlin spiel. Ukraine will be fighting! How dare they!
You said this would occur on Dec. 25th. Christmas Day is already half over in Ukraine. Where is that Ukraine offensive you desperately warned us of in the OP??????
:lamo:lamo:lamoIt's still being planned.
The Ukro-nazis have to re-calibrate their plan in response to the Russian revelations.
Now it seems they are taking inspiration from ISIS.
Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova on upcoming provocations by Kiev in southeast Ukraine - News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation
Meanwhile, we see that Kiev is considering other options for inflaming the situation in the region and extending martial law. We are deeply concerned about claims in Ukrainian media coming from so-called “experts” about the possible use of chemical weapons by armed units of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics. We recall a statement from Irina Friz, head of Ukraine’s permanent delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, on "the development by Russia of chemical and biological weapons for future use against Ukraine". This circumstance suggests that Kiev strategists have thoroughly studied and are ready to put into practice the experience of their foreign overseers, in organising provocations with the use of weapons of mass destruction.
We also note that a few days ago, Major General Volodymyr Rapko, head of the Ukrainian General Staff’s Main Directorate for Communications and Information Systems, announced the transition of cyber-security units to combat readiness. For such a high-ranking figure in the Ukrainian military to be ratcheting up this issue, suggests the possibility of cyber provocations. Representatives of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (stationed in Tallinn, Estonia) and members of the British army’s 77th Brigade, which specialises in psychological and information warfare, are likely to provide advice and practical assistance to Ukraine to accomplish such an operation. All of this is consistent with the political trajectory of Ukraine’s leadership, aimed at escalating tensions with Russia through artificial means, just as the election campaign gets going.
