The Trump administration said that Khalil and other international students who take part in pro-Palestinian protests are harming U.S. foreign policy interests, and this allows the Secretary of State to revoke any visas or permanent resident status - which SoS MarcoRubio did on March 10th.
Earlier today, an immigration Judge (Jamee Comans/LaSalle Immigration Court in Louisiana) ruled that Khalil IS deportable under provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and that deportation process may proceed. Khalil's attorneys have until April 23rd to file relief applications.
Khalil's attorneys have claimed that his arrest was "unlawful" as was his detention and transfer to the jail Louisiana, some 1,200 miles (1,930 km) from his family and lawyers in NYC.

Do you think that Mahmoud Khalil will actually be deported? There are no right or wrong answers - its pure speculation.
