The vaccines we have appear to be effective preventing hospitalization or death from Delta. However the viral loading in the nasal passages is so much greater with Delta, 1,000 times that of the original COVID-19 and THAT is why Delta's transmission rate is so high. The hospitalization rate directly correlates to the unvaccinated. The key for us that are vaccinated is to protect against becoming an asymptomatic spreader of Delta to the unvaccinated and or to each other.
