I bought my first real dictionary, I am now an adult, officially. :rofl

For years I've used online dictionaries - but not anymore! I finally decided to take the plunge and, after lots of page-flipping, I bought the only dictionary at the bookstore that had the word "caitiff" in it.

Bummed to find that they don't have an "old english to modern english" dictionary. :rofl

It means I read a lot of old-world crap!

It's going to suck if you start reading philosophy texts, because philosophers think it is awesome to piss on anyone's understanding of a word, and create their own meaning.

Then you go to the dictionary and you are like..."oh oh! Dangit, what the crap!? That doesn't make any damned sense!" Then your head explodes.

LOL

I actually looked for a philosopher's dictionary to explain some implied meanings, etc - as well as a poet's old world dictionary.

I don't think they exist.

So I thought of the most bizarre, odd words and looked them up to determine which dictionary would suffice. . . I'm such a dork! MM MM MM.

I have one somewhere back home, actually. I cannot recall which one, actually. Amazon has them.

Also, Leo Strauss and Joseph Cropsey came out with a history of political philosophy text that is massive, and is on my buy list.

*puts it on the wish list*

Right up there with the Codex Gigas and Voynich Manuscript - I've bought so many books, lately, and I've read part of all of them ... all very interesting. AT this rate I'll be done reading these current 5 in 10 years.

At my rate....more than that.

I keep picking up primary sources for my research on Amazon, because my subject matter is full of academics, so they can never stop writing. It's like torture for the wallet.

Like the audiophiles at head-fi.org say, "Welcome to head-fi. Sorry about your wallet!"
