I'm calling it: Trump will never be able to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia

Your post is FOS!

““Gasoline just broke $1.98 a Gallon, lowest in years,” Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Friday. “Consumers have been waiting for years to see pricing come down. NO INFLATION, THE FED SHOULD LOWER ITS RATE!!!”

“CONSUMERS”

Dude has made 2 false, hollow claims on this thread alone.

This is what we're faced with - an opposition utterly untethered by reality.

Thus far Trump's "hardline" have changed nothing, so it's hard to know whether this meeting is a serious one or just Putin stringing everyone along. Putin's been pretty clear on what he wants and hasn't deviated from it, and while he hasn't made any significant gains in Ukraine, he's dug in enough where he can play a game of attrition with the US and Ukraine.

Both cannot be True about Putin. If he had been pretty clear on what he wants and hasn't deviated then he can't be guilty of stringing anyone along

Of course he can. He can stay on message and meeting with leaders over and over again to keep pressure off of him because he is "willing to talk". We've seen this play out already, so what comes out of this next round of talks will be telling.

He strings Trump along pretty well. He's doing it right now - pretending there can be an end to the fighting without him taking all of Ukraine.

Maga's bought it hook, line and sinker.

How is Trump supposed to craft an agreement to Putin's disadvantage? What is Trump supposed to do that Senile Joe did not do?
Dementia Don needs to end the war. He's said it himself. What is he waiting for?

Trump always emerges from talks with Putin in excellent mood. If he finds Putin that charming over the phone I hate to imagine what effect the physical presence of Putin will have on him.

I will be very worried if I were Zelensky.

But we will have to wait and see

I have not lost any.

He fixed it by securing the border and ending the insanely stupid catch and release program.

1. Trump did not reform the asylum process, he simply stopped it. The policy still exists.
2. Gas did not drop to $1.99 a gallon.
3. You seem to have given up on defending his pathetic work on Ukraine. - the thread topic.

Oh, I'm sure he's worried. All of concerned with the rule of law and the preservation of democracy are worried.

Plus, there still might be that pee tape out there somewhere.

What's to defend? I have full confidence that if Putin and Zelensky are up for peace, Trump will be the leader to successfully broker it.

It is not "fixed." It still exists.

The idea that Putin might want peace while he has said he wants all of Ukraine is another little fantasy of yours.

You want Ukraine at the table, what is Ukraine bringing to the table?

Their nation is under attack by your mother Russia, they have to agree to anything leading to peace no matter what Putin told you.

Cannot argue with that. The US is a most formidable adversary, and dwarfs Russia by miles. It may just be that a "willing to talk" policy is the wise path for Russia

That a "most formidable adversary" would be begging him for talks suggests weakness on its part, which takes us back to the title of the thread.

The policy is fixed and the border is secure. We do still have to round up and deport the turds that slipped through during the Brandon aadministration.

I harbor no fantasies. I have qualified that if peace is possible, Trump will be the one to broker it. If peace is not possible, that's on one or both the warring parties. I think Zelensky by now wants peace, and it's only a matter of time before Putin works out that the war is more or less a stalemate that is turning into another Afghanistan for Russia. Hopefully he will come to that conclusion sooner, rather than later.
