Harmony shared video of her on-air tribute to Kirk, telling viewers it was okay to feel sadness and grieve. She became emotional and noted that Kirk was her first boss. Her LinkedIn profile shows she worked at Turning Point USA from 2021 to 2022.

"There's a lot going on in our world right now, and our country, but I want to say one thing. Lean on your neighbors, speak up for what you believe in, I don't care what it is," she said in the video.

It's unclear if she ignored a directive by the station ahead of time not to give the tribute, or if the speech was a surprise.

Harmony said in her post to X, "Many in the mainstream media have been fired or punished for mocking his assassination. I believe I am the first to be targeted for honoring him on air."

Good for her. Who would want to work for such a scummy organization that you can't say something NICE!

And the partisan divide grows wider.

The censors pretend they've got your back because of what side you're on. But in the meanwhile they are already cowardly conniving "well let's be fair and censor everybody" ... and they probably had a list of candidates in their back pocket they aimed to replace you with all along, just as soon as they find an excuse.

Witch hunters will hunt witches, real or imagined.

Hey Beni Rae- you weren’t targeted. You took to the airwaves which didn’t belong to you and decided you were going to talk and act unhinged on air about an extremely polarizing public figure. That’s on you. For Christ’s sake, you worked for a Sinclair Broadcast Group station, and you figured you’d just pull that stunt? You figured wrong.

It’s laughable that you were on a Springfield, Illinois station (you know, the state capital, a town that’s got plenty of Democrats like the governor) and you’re shocked by your dismissal?

Sinclair is not liberal, but they don't like* local news breaking script.

* - John Oliver has a segment on them

Illinois is a liberal shit hole. This guy will look back on this as a blessing.

This was almost certainly a "didn't follow orders" firing
