They're coming because they're not safe in their own country due in large part to US involvement going all the way back to the 80's and Reagan's Iran Contra Affair.
nope, central America has always been a hotbed of violence and homicides, reagen had little to do anything

“Under the umbrella of the Cold War, the US amplified its presence in the region, especially El Salvador, in order to defeat the guerrillas of the FMLN,” said Xochitl Sanchez of the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) in Los Angeles. “The United States is complicit in creating the rampant and bloody gang violence, dire poverty, displacement and migration from El Salvador.” CARECEN was founded in 1983, as Central Americans were fleeing en masse to the US. “The need was astonishing,” said Sanchez."

Reagan's administration ultimately decided to ignore the warnings, and indirect assistance was secretly resumed through the CIA. "Overall, U.S. intelligence, training, political support and assistance to the Guatemalan government and military in the early and mid-1980s uncritically supported counter-insurgency strategies that targeted civilians, in the cities and in rural areas like the Ixil Triangle," Geoff Thale said. "U.S. policy makers of that era bear some responsibility for the human rights abuses that took place."

"The Reagan years also saw the construction of numerous joint Honduran-U.S. military bases and installations. Such moves greatly strengthened the militarization of Honduran society. In turn, political repression rose. There was a dramatic increase in the number of political assassinations, “disappearances” and illegal detentions.

The Reagan administration also played a big role in restructuring the Honduran economy. It did so by strongly pushing for internal economic reforms, with a focus on exporting manufactured goods. It also helped deregulate and destabilize the global coffee trade, upon which Honduras heavily depended. These changes made Honduras more amenable to the interests of global capital. They disrupted traditional forms of agriculture and undermined an already weak social safety net.

These decades of U.S. involvement in Honduras set the stage for Honduran emigration to the United States, which began to markedly increase in the 1990s."

Socialist defending violence of the socialists.

Socialist defending violence of the socialists.

Simply pointing out Reagan's complicity in creating poverty ridden. Violence strewn military laden, despotic states whose citizens are fleeing here.

But the good news is, despite being failed states that have refugees rushing to our shores, they're not socialist.

If they're refugees from the US's dirty little wars in Central America then they should be let in.
Exactly. legal immigration is a stupid Idea. Why should the people of this country actually decide our immigration policy. Spread the word. The path to freedom will not happen for the law abiding. Send us your criminals with no respect for our laws. Just sneak on in and if you are caught just claim asylum. It will work with the people of this country who are suckers and idiots.

Have you any evidence it was Joe? Perhaps you don't recall me saying that imposters often do what they must. So, is it possible that some cons are doing a photo op?

Socialist defending violence of the socialists.

You haven't even been able to CORRECTLY identify a socialist so all you do is lie with your ignorant comments. Your comments are so retarded, they make Jerry's kids feel like they are Einsteins.

Mycroft made a very good observation: " I wonder who gave them the t-shirts and set up that photo op? "

Have you ever seen illegals/refugees in such clean T-shirts? I see a set up.

Me too! Why would Biden send them shirts demanding that he specifically should "let them in"? So many gullible Trumpers.

The US has an immigration policy for refugees....

Under U.S. law, a “refugee” is a person who is unable or unwilling to return to his or her home country because of a “well-founded fear of persecution” due to race, membership in a particular social group, political opinion, religion, or national origin. This definition is based on the United Nations 1951 Convention and 1967 Protocols relating to the Status of Refugees, which the United States became a party to in 1968. Following the Vietnam War and the U.S. experience resettling Indochinese refugees, Congress passed the Refugee Act of 1980, which incorporated the Convention’s definition into U.S. law and provides the legal basis for today’s U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).

The US involvement in Central America is in large part the reason there is refugee crisis. I'm of the belief that if you break something then you're responsible for fixing it.

So they are not responsible at all for the way their country turned out. It is everyone else's fault. Sorry but the fact is they are the primary reason their country is the way it is. If we had not interfered in any of the countries that were settled by brown people they would all be wonderful paradises instead of the corrupt shit holes we see today. No that is a cop out by cowardly people who are not willing to fight for their freedom and have made a mess of their countries. Face the facts their countries are nightmare because that is what they made of them. These people are not fleeing white Americans but evil brown vicious brown people. Most of the people claiming asylum are not fleeing persecution but circumventing our immigration laws. They could and should have sought asylum in the wonderful brown country of Mexico when they crossed the border and were no longer under threat of persecution. Of course asylum is not what they were after other wise they would have. The fact is they do not want to live in a brown country and frankly I don't blame them. So they traveled another 1000+ miles to our border tried to sneak in and when caught or stopped lie to circumvent our laws. Sorry but those are the facts.

Sorry, but the sad fact is that US involvement in Central America is largely the cause of the problems that exist there today.

Well if we are so terrible why are they coming here? The reason is because you are wrong. We leave these countries and nothing changes because it is the people living there that are the problem. The minute we leave because our rich and powerful decide to use our influence and military to get what they want elsewhere these people could easily stop all the killing and nonsense. But they don't. That is because that is the kind of people they are. It is just that simple.

Your argument seems to be based more on personal prejudice than facts. I gave you the chance to educate yourself on the subject and you failed miserably....which proves the kind of person you are.

Socialist defending violence of the socialists.

That comment puts you squarely on the side of fascists' defending violence of the fascists. Reagan funded and trained far right paramilitaries to rape, torture and kill nuns, peasants and farm laborers for daring to demand democracy in their own country.
