The old Mark Twain quote of "If your vote counted, they'd outlaw it.", well just how true do you feel that is?

I'm pretty close to saying it's 100% the case.

Right now if a person gets in office I think those in control will sway him/her in whatever direction they need to suit them, so it may just as well be the case.

Opinions?
 
My vote doesn't count because people in the media and government play with demographics to get the outcomes that they want.

While I don’t support the kind of electioneering a disaster that she’s doing there, how is that supporting electoral fraud?

From what I recall I do not see any Dem State being taken to SCOTUS over gerrymandering.
I have seen Republican States brought to courts including SCOTUS, and not only for gerrymandering but for voter suppression.

If you don't live in one of the swing states your vote doesn't matter, doesn't count. This is why the electoral system is flawed, every single vote in this country should matter...But it doesn't.

I believe a the SCOTUS decided in December to hear a case about Maryland’s districts drawn by Democrats.

The Supreme Court said Friday that it will hear a challenge to Maryland’s congressional districts brought by seven Republican voters who say the state’s 2011 redistricting violated their First Amendment rights.

In a case that has been watched closely by state political leaders and that has already been to the Supreme Court once before, the seven voters will now have an opportunity to bring their novel argument before the justices: that the redistricting amounted to a retaliation against them because of how they voted.

The court heard a separate redistricting case in October filed by Wisconsin Democrats over that state’s legislative districts that some believed could have bearing on the Maryland litigation. Taking the second case suggests that redistricting will feature even more prominently during the court’s current term.

You might be surprised to know that the last time I voted for a Republican for POTUS (other than Trump) was for W. in 2000.

Redistricting should be removed from the political process. Should not matter who is Governing a State in 2020.

Redistricting happens from what I understand every 10 years due to population movement.
It should not be run by politicians. Take the politicians out of it.
