If you believe Jesus is God, post here.

It is one book, yes, it has many chapters, but it is one book and its the one that many christians wave and hide behind.

It is several books by different authors, which are all compiled into one.
Each book can be a stand-alone book.

Then, why isn't it?

Until they drop down into Hell, that is.
I'd bet lots of money that if there is a "Hell", the number of "christians burning" far exceeds the number of non-christians "burning".

I'd bet there's a lot of "christians" there who once thought they had a sure-fire, direct path, no need to stop at pearly gates, invitation from Jesus himself, welcome to heaven card too.

I know a lot, I attended religious school from K-12.

Been there, done that.

And they never taught you that Jesus warned people about Hell? What K-12 religious school was that - the John Fetterman Academy?

Oh, we were taught that, but we weren't taught to think of god as our personal assassin, or to be joyful and condemn people to hell.

Maybe you enjoy condemning people to hell, but if you do, that is sinful.

I grew up in the church and our church wasn't on a mission to convert everyone (although the leaders would certainly talk to anyone that was interested).

So I kind of feel sorry for those (Christian, Islam, etc) that have to constantly push their religion on to other humans. It has to be exhausting.

In one book, called....wait for it....the bible!

Yes.
A compiliation of several books by different authors, divided into two segments - the Old and the New - all put into one.

Your point again?

Do Christians refer to the Bible as "The Books of Life" (plural) or the "The Book of Life" (singular) as a general rule of thumb @tosca1 ?

So, it is one book.

Deuteronomy 21:18 21 - "If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, who shall not obey the voice of the father, or obey the voice of the mother....all of the men of the city shall stone him with stones, that he die." --- Since you claim "The actual instructions and stories in it have never changed", are we as parents still to follow the "actual instructions" as directed in the bible verse presented and stone our rebellious sons to death?

I was responding to someone pointing out the Bible itself has been revised many times. Pay attention.

You never bothered to look at the title Genesis, then the numbers 1, 2, 3, etc. in a big bold font.

Why do you think verse references are in a "Genesis 3:5" format? That by itself proves it is 66 books put together, not one book with 66 chapters.

Are you reluctant to answer a fair question about a bible verse? If so, why? Are the "instructions" put forth in that bible verse still valid today, or have the "instructions" changed?

Not at all. I was just pointing out your mistake.

Now that the technology exists to do something else, it is not necessary to literally "stone him to death" anymore. But the meaning of it - to make him suffer a painful death - has not changed. Throwing stones simply was what they were able to do at the time.

So, we are no longer to "stone" disobedient children to death: - We are to use new "technology" to put disobedient, unruly children to death in a "suffering, painful" manner, because the "instructions" have not changed?
