Betsy DeVos Could Face Jail After Judge Rules She Violated 2018 Order on Student Loans

There are many court cases going forward against the stance taken by Trump to refuse all subpoenas by the House committees. Many on this message board approve of his actions saying it is his right. What happens if the court orders him to release the information requested and the people to testify and Trump refuses? One reason I ask is the the secretary of Education has been violating a court order for more than a year and now the judge in the case is suggesting that she might jail DeVos if she continues to violate the order. It shows just how much the Trump administration thinks of court orders and that just involved student loans. If the court in this case orders Trump to obey the House subpoenas, it could go right to the heart of the Trump presidency. So, will yo still stand behind Trump if he defies court orders?

I don't really blame him at this point. We know that the mission has been to remove him from office, even before he won the presidency. Because it's not like they've let up on their attacks against him, or the other members of his administration.

Most of us are just tired of this now.

Right it’s not like some GOP member we said it was their goal to make him a one term president like the GOP did before he took office.

The Democrats have been doing all they can to make him a half term president. They've thrown up fake scandals, attacked his own administration members, and his own supporters. Both verbally and physically.

Normal voters are just tired of all of this.

Whether people like it or not, or agree with the courts decisions, once its gone through all its appeals everyone has to comply with the final decision. In the mean time people need to excercise restraint while it works its way through the process. Trump has every legal right to resist the democrats demands as much as the law allows. My advice to everyone is to ignore all the noise the Democrats are making and allow the law to reign.

Your attempt to draw any type of parallel between how Republicans treated Obama to how Progressives are treating Trump is laughable.

So you're going to support Trump in defying the courts & rule of law? Do I understand you correctly?

There is nothing wrong with his defying the courts, so long as it goes to the extent of the law and if it reaches a point where he must comply. Then he simply must comply, or find another way to resist it that will be within the boundaries of the law.

Whether or not this happens in the DeVos case, it is inevitable that a court will order the Trump Administration to obey House subpoenas.

Nixon ran the same play in 1974 and lost. Those presidents still stand.

These people were never Law and Order Americans.

They're more like street criminals in Miami.

I'm speaking of Trump supporters.

Sorry you don’t like the truth. Republicans obstructed Obama all the time. And they spent years trying to nail Obama and Hillary and they failed. So spare me your tears for your Trumptard.

What a delusional post.

The left needs to come to terms with the fact they have declared war.

The bar has been set.

The next Dem who sits in the White House has no chance.

There won't be a moment of peace.

Reap what you sow.

Let us know when a scotus nominee is denied for trump by the hypocritical Moscow Mitch. Until then I suggest you remove your head from the dark places they are because you are blind to the corruption of trump and the GOP.

You cons declared war on the Dems for over 8 years with Obama. You wanted this you got it.

Blah, blah, blah.

You think the outrageous bull**** from the New Democratic Party since November 9, 2016 and prior will go unanswered?

That's delusional.

So you support lawlessness under the guise that it is a witch hunt, right? Send the law and the Constitution to hell!

1. I find it simultaneously amusing, pathetic and not surprising that the article only tells one side of the story. This IS Newsweek, you know.

2. Don't cream your jeans at the thought of DeVos going to jail. Even that one-sided article admits...at the very end...that jail is unlikely.

3. And finally, in response to your thread topic...tell me, when has Trump ever violated a court order? What, besides sheer fantasy, makes you think he'll do so now? After all, Trump isn't Obama.

Sorry you don’t like the truth. Republicans obstructed Obama all the time. And they spent years trying to nail Obama and Hillary and they failed. So spare me your tears for your Trumptard.
Sounds to me like its the left thats crying, like i said, your attempt here is laughable.

Catch 22: the dems are not issuing subpoenas through the courts (DoJ), making their subpoenas basically only "please comply with our demands" requests.

Translation: Yes.

Man. I am kinda bummed, you're not even trying anymore.

How many times did Republicans hold hearings and investigations on Benghazi? Fast and Furious? The IRS targeting scandal? The net result of those hearings, conducted by a majority-Republican congress, was to issue a couple citations for contempt of Congress, but no other indictments that I'm aware of. And we sat through some six years of all of that seemingly on a wash-rinse-repeat cycle.

Jail Tweety for obstruction. Put him next to Madoff in the conman wing.

I get it and i support rigorous scrutiny of all administrations and gov agencies. I supported all those things being investigated but not necessarily how they were investigated. I say the same about the investigations into Trump as well.
Frankly if i had it my way, there would be objective oversight taking place everytime the government does anything and there would be a lot less secrecy allowed. Unfortunately I'm not in charge, lol

The suggestion I find laughable is that the intensity level is anywhere near the same on how Republicans treated Obama ( which was not great) to how Democrats treat Trump.

I dont recsll anyone trying to impeach Obama. I Don't recall Republicans deviating from the normal procedures in an attempt to prosecute Obama. Democrats can not make the same claim.

Seeing as you're the only one saying that at this point. You may need to look inward for a solution.

I'm merely stating that I don't hold it against him, for fighting something that just might as well be some other attack against the members of his administration. We've been through nearly four years of this constant drama and it's gotten us nowhere.
