In the Northteast we're often charged with secretly thinking of ourselves as a sort of mutant clone of England, and in many ways it's true.

London- New York obviously. The titan and effective capital.

Birmingham- Philadelphia. The second largest and former industrial center.

Liverpool- Baltimore. Former ship building center.

Manchester- Boston? This is a bit of a stretch because Manchester doesn't really have the same historical Academic position, however they both are "up there in the North"

I'm a little bit at a loss for what DC would be.

Well people from England and Philly are some of the fattest around, so I've heard. ;)

Is Birmingham a filthy city with obnoxious sports fans?

I don't know but I recently read an article where a guy lambasted British women for being fat and slovenly. And didn't Philly rate #1 for the ugliest fattest most unhealthy city? I seem to recall some family members being up in arms.

I think so. Nothing good except the cheese steaks and roast pork are good in philthy. maybe there is a correlation between that and obesity there.

What's wrong with being compared with a country that has the pound sterling as it's currency? I'd rather have that then be a living hell like Idaly. But I'm originally from the West Coast. Anybody got better insight?

You seem to be able to get a cheap meal in New york unlike london. In london if you want a half decent meal for a reasonable price you need to find a weatherspoons and they purposely disguise them.

Birmingham i have no idea does phily have a very large south asian population and ridiculous accents.
