In the Northteast we're often charged with secretly thinking of ourselves as a sort of mutant clone of England, and in many ways it's true.
London- New York obviously. The titan and effective capital.
Birmingham- Philadelphia. The second largest and former industrial center.
Liverpool- Baltimore. Former ship building center.
Manchester- Boston? This is a bit of a stretch because Manchester doesn't really have the same historical Academic position, however they both are "up there in the North"
I'm a little bit at a loss for what DC would be.
