If Obama Runs For President...

What are the odds that Barack Obama will be assassinated if he runs for President?

My wife and I just watched Barack Obama on "Face The Nation" and he is truly an articulate man, one who will attract a lot of positive reaction, but one who will also stir up some of America's silent racism, IMHO.

We talked a bit and became worried that if he does run would he be assassinated? So my poll question is:

What are the odds that Barack Obama will be assassinated if he runs for President?
 
Presidents tend not to be murdered for the simple reason that people crazy enough to want to murder the president are not competent enough to pull it off. And people good enough to pull it off aren't crazy enough to want to do it.

You aren't going to get a maryter for your wacky libernazi ideas. Obama is way way far left. He's going to be just like Howard Dean: sir up a small horde of college students that yell a lot and don't bother to show up at the primary polls.

He's also going to end up driving all the closet racists on the democrat side away, which the media will somehow try to blame the republicans for.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the first black president is going to be a conservative.

I dunno man I've been watching In The Line Of Fire over and over for like 4 years and practicing my Tae Quan Do tornado kick I JUST MIGHT PULL IT OFF.

amateurs who don't mind dying (Squeeky Frome, Hinkley)
Pros who are very risk adverse

In general, though, I like to think that we've progressed past the point of lynchings and assassinations of politicians because they're not white.

What exactly is Tae Quan Do? It's taekwondo, or tae kwon do, if that's how you prefer it, but it's not Chinese; it's Korean.

Also, how many Secret Service guards does the President have on him at all times? Isn't there always a police presence wherever the president goes? A couple of fancy martial arts moves can't compete with guns shooting bullets propelled at 200 mph at you.

i dont know if any of you watch mind of mencia, but he was talking about how if he was a black president, to avoid assasination his vice president would be mexican, so if the black president got assasinated, the mexican vice president would open the borders.

I voted no chance because the poll was just asking if he runs. If he actually is elected president I would vote the last choice. My thinking is that unless he somehow gains so much support that he is the clear-cut winner well before the election, no one is going to assassinate him. They will wait until the election to make sure their efforts are not in vein.

But then again, that may just be too logical...so I probably should have voted the last option.
 
i do think that there will be a better chance of obama (or just a black president) being assassionated. MLK was assassionated for fighting for civil rights; obama wouldn't just be allowed to be prez (fighting for civil rights), he would be the prez. security would have to be tighter.

bottem line: there would definately be at least one racist nutcase that would try to assassionate obama.
 
I did not vote because i believe Obama would be assassinated IF he was elected
not just for running
He is a junior 1 term senator and has little chance of winning the presidency at this time in my opinion
He has no track record
and while he is a very charming eloquent speaker, it takes more than that to win the Presidency

but if you go out into the real world you will see it is very possible, if not probable
Racism is on the decline, I hope, but it is alive and well
if it wasnt, Richards N word incident would not have been front page news
I personally would have no problem with a black president, a woman president, or a black woman president
I just do not see it happening yet
My father believes tho, that if The Hildebeast runs, she will win, despite being a staunch conservative, to the point he makes me look like a bleeding heart limousine liberal

Lynching and maybe attempted Assassination days is still around just in a different form. Obama is married to a beautiful and sexy Black woman, and without doult she's a understanding and supportive woman.

Secondly, In today's society there do not have to be a reason for one or two attempts on Obama's life, due to the fact of the matter that most Americans is blinded by hate, and it seems to be a problem for anyone to express their thoughts or opinions.

After all there is some strong Black Sisters who isn't weak for the White man,
but I can't say that about all White women when it comes to a Black Brother,
and I am one who believes in stay within his own race. Sure its okay to be a
friend or associate,but in Jim Crow's law its a section about Black and Whites
touching.

To be honest I would reither see Obama as Sec of State then President or Vice President. Because the White society (the so called majority) would not allow a Black man or woman to lead this country, and somewhere along the line it would be an attempt made on Obama's life cause of what he believes in.

As far as I know, there have been no attempts on Bush's life, even though he's a very unpopular president and is even hated in some corners.

Based on what he said, my guess is that he's a white male, and he is stating his preference. I don't think he's being racist...biased, yes, but not racist.
