The Talibornagains need to understand that they are gonna open a whole can of worms that they might not like.

If Republican leaders in Iowa give millions of dollars to private religious schools through a controversial voucher program, there’s a chance it’ll support a Satanic school as well. That’s what non-theist Joe Stutler told lawmakers on Tuesday during a hearing for House Study Bill 1, a piece of legislation that’s being called a “top priority” by the state’s GOP leadership.

Governor Kim Reynolds and her allies want to spend $341 million per year to pay for students to attend private (often religious) schools. Usually, the biggest complaints about voucher programs come from church/state separation supporters, who don’t want public money supporting religious education; special needs families, who say their kids may not be accepted or supported by private schools; and LGBTQ people, whose mere existence is a black mark for many Christians.

Knowing that lawmakers were well aware of those complaints and didn’t give a damn about any of them, Stutler took a different approach during yesterday’s public hearing about the bill. He told the legislators he supported the bill… and that he would be opening “Little Devils Academy” (tag line: “Bite The Apple”) if the bill passed in order to spread the Gospel of Satan to little kids.

He can threaten that. But I doubt he has the money to go through with it.

"Congressman X voted to use government money to fund madrassas throughout the state. Do you want your tax dollars going to radical Islamic fundamentalist indoctrination? Vote for Y."

Only in a place where you have freedom could idiocy like this exist. God bless America.

Let them open a satanic school

And then let them close it when they dont get any students

I mean....do you really think parents are going to send their kids there?

Vouchers are a good thing....and allow parents to decide where their want their kids to go

And if the state/county isnt keeping their schools up to standards, i guess more and more parents will choose the private institutions

Cute approach but I think he'd get a lot further if he opted to open an LBGTQ friendly school.

Frist get the school hooked on "vouchers" as a means of generating revenue.

Once that is done. Start requiring teacher and administrator credentials/licensure as a requirement of being eligible for vouchers.

Laster establish minimum compensation standards for education professionals as a requirement of being eligible for vouchers.

Finally later still establish minimum curriculum standards as a requirement of being eligible for vouchers.

If I was a DEM, that's the way I'd do it. Ignore the short term, think of the changes over 20 years.

I would throw some cash at it if he started a crowdfund.

We do not need a world where 2+2=Jesus.

Religions already don’t pay taxes.

So they deserve zero tax dollars.

The ultimate goal is to educate our kids. The problem with the public schools is the focus is on the underachiever and keeping them in school so they can disrupt everyone's learning. If your kids have any brains whatsoever he's better off home schooled, attending private school, or the latest thing is advance placement through the community colleges. You have to look out for your own kids because no one else will.

I will volunteer to teach.

Republican lawmakers in Iowa will just change the bill so it is only for private Christians schools.
That could be the end of it since any decent court in the land would view that as illegal.

And? I dont think he quite thought his proposal through. If he wants to open it go ahead I say. Him getting students on the other hand, good luck with that.

Man, do I love me some malicious compliance.
I love it too. This guy isnt doing that. How many local parents do you think will send their children to his place? Any? Thats not malicious compliance.

This bill has caused the Iowa Veteran’s fund to go dry this winter.

Iowa isn’t alone in sabotaging public schools, such as Tennessee. They’ve unwittingly pissed off the dormant independents who will now rally to take back their state from the freedumb circus.

Private ‘Xtian’ schools across America are using this money to bribe and recruit star athletes away from public schools. This will indeed 🪃 🪃

Yeah the whole point of vouchers is to get around the first amendment and get funding to religious schools. They think they are clever….

The goal is a standard level of education. Anything above that is on the individual.

Why can't he do it without the legislation?
