If ANTIFA and "the left" were really behind the events of 1/6...why doesn't the GOP want it investigated?

Simple question. If the thugs who stormed the capitol were really ANTIFA and "the left" pretending to be "patriotic conservatives", why the hell doesn't the GOP want it investigated? We all know the answer, but I'd be interested in hearing what the resident "conservatives" have to say here.
 
Well, they know the Antifa stuff is propaganda, and they also are afraid that an investigation could reveal damning things about the Republican party, Donald Trump, and his supporters.

It's a gigantic risk, and politicians hate taking risks. What if some of the crazier rumors turn out to be true?

And finally, as we've seen with systemic racism, global warming, and the threat of Covid during a pandemic, many Republicans love to diminish or ignore significant societal problems.

Their DNA screams out against any analysis of the insurrection.

If "we" all know the answer, then what can anyone say that's different from what "we" already know? Could it be that it's not "we" who know the answer, but only "you" who think "we" do?

In any case, what do you think would happen if some Republicans came out and said Congress needs to investigate Antifa and the left? Do you think a single Antifa supporting or left supporting Congressman will agree to such an investigation?

An investigation into the 1/6 events should expose those responsible. You want to push the idea of an investigation into ANTIFA and the LEFT because YOU are the one that already has a preferred answer and is looking for an investigation chartered to give you what you want.

You really need a new hobby Mycroft or maybe a new profession. I hope nobody is stupid enough to be paying you for your performances here.

it's being investigated , by police. congress , if they could be so bothered, has more important crap to attend to that investigating a riot for partisan political gain. we know that is why they are investigating it because of all the other riots that have gone on recently, THIS is the one they want to investigate.

Oh, it was an insurrection, and it will be investigated for a long, long time.

We want to make sure that it never happens again, of course, rather than sweeping it under the rug and pretending that it never happened by referring to it as a riot.

Oh...I know what Nancy's purpose for an "Independent Committee" (I think you mean "Independent Counsel") is...and it has nothing to do with finding out who's responsible for anything. It's about political advantage.

I dont believe anyone was behind it and I am in favor of investigating it and proving once and for all that it was not an insurrection either.

Oh, none of the numerous investigations will be about whether it was an insurrection.

Pardon me while I take a break to laugh my ****ing ass off.

It is a fact that it was an insurrection. America is long past that point. The insurrection is a part of America's history. Every January 6th, children in classrooms will be reminded of the insurrection that occurred on January 6th, 2021, because Donald Trump refused to concede defeat and egged on his followers to stop the certification of the results.

We will be investigating many of the details of the insurrection in order to find out many, many other things.
