ICE raids across L.A. spark backlash; Trump officials vow to continue operations

I would be inclined to agree with you on this point.

Why? We are only five years removed from a near coup, and nothing has changed to strengthen those guardrails. They have only gotten weaker. trump now has a 100% compliant VP and AG. Vance would have done what Pence wouldn't.

There's a difference between being accused of such things, and actually being such things.
At present, we have allot of the former, and none of the latter, IMHO.

Earlier I presented a pretty convincing list of why trump is an authoritarian. Nobody wanted to debate the points.

Colonization is what the invaders are doing to America, with full support of Antisemites in the National Socialist democrat party.

Yes, and lies are just that, lies.
So by definition the Democrats are not “National Socialists”, and there no “colonization” or “invasion”. Glad to see you admit it.

Ain’t that the truth!
That’s because The Trump Card knocked down that house of cards. Including the card.

CHAZ/CHOP was an outright insurrection, in fact treason per the Constitution, waging war against the United States.

What does Seattle have to do with the 1992 uprising in Los Angeles?

Obviously the uprising by foreign nationals in Los Angeles fits the description of insurrection far better.

How do you know who is a foreign national, and who is documented immigrant, permanent resident, or citizen? Please remember that 48% of LA is Latino, including city council members, U.S. Congresspersons, a U.S. Senator, and a previous mayor (or two). Presuming that all brown faces in Los Angeles are foreign nationals is setting oneself up to have assumptions disproved.

That's a blatant lie. Massive changes were made.

No, that is not factual. It wasn’t until after the Ramparts scandal that the LAPD entered into a federal consent decree to guarantee reform of the police. LA City Council voted for the consent decree in exchange for the US Department of Justice not pursuing a lawsuit against the LAPD. The police department exited the decree after about 10 years, and that was contested because not all reforms had been completed.

The issue with Rampart is that they were in bed with the gangs - corrupt up to the rafters. The gangs had bought a paid for them.

Nope, they were making there own $$$$ selling confiscated drugs out the back door of Ramparts.

John and Ken on KFI had the best coverage, but here is a Communist source so you can't complain of bias.

Well there’s a pair of object observers — not! Everything was the fault of the brown people.

How about the investigative journalism in the LA Times and the LA Weekly?

Only two references in the PBS timeline (out of more than 20) mention Death Row Records, and only that some — a “clique” of officers — were hired to work off duty as security. This does not account for the illegal activities performed while on duty, and by officers outside the so-called clique.

This is an immigration (i.e., Federal matter).

Immigration enforcement is a federal matter. Due process is a constitutional right. Policing is a local matter.

You're salivating at the thought of Marines killing people on domestic soil - we get it.

Why? We are only five years removed from a near coup,
'Near coup'? Seriously?
If you believe that was a 'Near coup' it's no wonder that you believe the 'guardrails' are insufficient and failing.
I mean seriously.

What happened on Jan 6th was a legal, legitimate and properly permitted political protest / demonstration unfortunately descended into a riot, and nothing more.

'Near coup'? No wonder you are all bent out of shape. You've been listening, and apparently believing, the Dem's compliant and complicit MSM propagandists in the liberal / progressive media echo chamber. That's your problem, and what has caused your problem.

and nothing has changed to strengthen those guardrails. They have only gotten weaker. trump now has a 100% compliant VP and AG. Vance would have done what Pence wouldn't.

Earlier I presented a pretty convincing list of why trump is an authoritarian. Nobody wanted to debate the points.
Correction, no one wanted to debate the leftist nonsense push narratives you are parroting.

From your citation 'New York Times reports', of cherry picked 35 legal scholars, of the same vein as those in the judicial branch who are over reaching in their decisions against the Trump administration because of their politics.

I referenced the liberal / progressive media echo chamber above, there it is in spades. The root of your problem.

The political danger for idiots like Newsom and Karen Bass is they will quickly run out of empty statements to rationalize the criminal behavior of rioters who really don't give a shit about migrants and whether they are here illegally.
The more stupid things they say to try to lessen the criminal culpability of the criminal thugs on the street, the more the public will realize Democrat politicians who support sanctuary cities and laws that forbid local police from working with ICE have no authority to manage blue states or major cities.

You wrote: "the Republican-controlled congress is deciding who gets to be president."

Are you actually suggesting it was NOT the will of the voting public that put Trump in office.?
Do you have so little faith in our democracy you think there was some back room shenanigans that somehow rigged a national election in order to make Trump president?

Makes sense. Thank you for clarifying.

No way your plan does anything other than encourage more illegal immigration.
Well it also is a giant FU to all the people who immigrated here legally.

It is apparent it is not fashionable to demean you in any way.
You’re like the George Clooney of the DP bloggers. Can do no wrong.

Hah!

All's fair in love, war, and internet forums.

Don't let others influence your posting. I don't.

You realize "Sanctuary" is lawful, right? To tell the Feds, "We will not participate in immigration enforcement" is perfectly legal, and in fact the Constitution delegates the enforcement to the Feds, not the states.

It seems you missed a very, very simple point. You stated that they are human beings, as if that makes them good. Though, being a human being isn't a factor at all in a person being good or bad.

Thank you.

It speaks even more to my point.

Much to agree with in your post here.

The only change or difference would be with the statement that 'Democrat politicians who support sanctuary cities and laws that forbid local police from working with ICE' DO have the 'authority to manage blue states or major cities'. That authority comes with being elected to office.

When those Democrat politicians implement 'woke' public policies those policies are just simply incompetent public policies. Since these Democrat politicians who implement 'woke' public policies are more driven by ideology and feelings its no wonder that competence takes a back seat to those woke ideology and feelings, so the voters get what they voted for, incompetence.

Please explain this to me, Lefties.

If I'm in Russia illegally without a Visa or any other papers I get detained , and then deported.
If I'm in China illegally without a Visa or any other papers I get detained , and then deported.
If I'm in Brazil illegally without a Visa or any other papers I get detained , and then deported.

So whats the issue with Trump deporting illegal immigrants??

On balance, the sanctuary cities are violating federal law and should face both civil and criminal penalties.
What federal statute might city personnel be violating by, for example, not calling ICE when an illegal reports a crime to them or testifies as a witness in a trial?

The answer to the question is no, it's not worth it. It isn't about money, its about basic common decency.
