ICE raids across L.A. spark backlash; Trump officials vow to continue operations

The left cant send their Brownshirts out there to harass the wives and children of the ICE agents if they cant dox them first.

their lives are at stake. so they can say it's an undercover op. It depeds on what their supervisors say. Since we are in a place where just being an ICE agent on the streets can get you assaukted, and your work obstructed, there you go.

I dont give a rats ass about violent street demonstrations. If they are going to go violent, then ICE can protect their IDs

no. you have violent extremists who want confrontations and violence, but these are small scale neighborhood bad guys
I was in a riot at University of Maryland. tear gas. bottles, stones, cops on horseback and that was the norm for antiwar demonstrations that went violent. I've never experienced anything like it. it was a war zone with skirmish lines by demonstrators and National Guard

No, ICE called on the LAPD to protect them - see linked LA Times article in OP.

LAPD officers are required to have name tags visible at all times.

There are enough multi million settlements against the LAPD without anyone calling for deliberate violation of regulations.

Local law enforcement is not compelled to do the job of federal agencies.

If ICE had specific warrants, they could show up wearing standard ICE uniforms and badges and make arrests.

Not roll into neighborhood like they are going to god damned war.

This is performative cosplay bullshit with NO justification other than provocation. None.
 
Why is it so difficult for Dems/Progressives/Liberals to understand if migrants are in the country ILLEGALLY they can be deported?
Why is it so difficult for Dems/Progressives/Liberals to understand if citizens, elected officials, or illegals obstruct federal immigration officers doing their duty, they can be arrested, convicted, and put in jail for disobeying federal laws?

Are people like Karen Bass, the L.A. Mayor, really that stupid she would obstruct federal officers as they do their job following federal laws?

So now it has devolved to where Dems/Progressives/Liberals are willing to break the law to protect illegal migrants in our major cities.

And the anti-Trumpers accuse those trying to enforce the law as law breakers.

Watergate was bad because of how the president handled it, how he attempted to use his powers. But we had two other branches of government that functioned as they were intended, to serve as checks on abuses of power. We do not have that now.

9/11 was obviously a horrible day. I remember where I was then, as I'm sure you do. But we unified as a country. We rallied around a president who up that point wasn't particularly popular. After his response to the attacks, his approval rating shot up to 90 percent, which wouldn't happen now no matter who's president, no matter what the situation is. I actually lament that. We all should. It's something we've lost as a country, regardless of which side of the political spectrum we're on.

I do think the Bush administration's failures during the 2000s set into motion the death of the moderate Republican party, but that's for another thread. I don't think we can blame all our problems on GWB, though. Many, but not all.

Pearl Harbor? I mean, that was bad, and we had to respond to that attack, but truth be told,. the homeland was never in danger. American and British colonial supremacy in the Far East was certainly in jeopardy, and that's probably the real reason we responded, beyond the racist national outrage of being attacked by a bunch of slanty-eyed Japs.

there is a core group of militant leftists who dont want demonstrations or change. you can hear them saying "tear it down and re-build it".. I think I even say one of these dweebs on FOX in LA.. you cant reason or negotiate.. the y WANT civil unrest

That's not the debate we're having. Of course they can be deported. Joe Biden and Barack Obama deported literally millions of people during their terms, but they followed constitutionally-valid procedures for doing so.

they literally tracked this guy down for having a Trump flag. they kept giving directions to follow his truck I mean this was Rose City (Portland) the worst of the worst.
Im done with violent street thugs. Thankfully I dont have to put up with any of that shit down here in Florida
 

It would be a lot better if people with money, means, and power were more interested in creating a society that was less racist, less exploitative, and more egalitarian. I bet people would be less inclined to riot then, but that's really the crux of the matter: one half of the country likes the periods in American history that were racist, sexist, homophobic, aristocratic, and exploitative. They also probably think they like being forced to work in mine shafts with no ability to collectively bargain for better pay and working conditions, talking about how we should do more real work but wouldn't know shit all about what real work is.
 
Thanks for the info. i work weekends and am just catching up. If the LAPD has to protect ICE...how is ICE supposed to be able to do it's job?
