ICE arrests NYC mayoral candidate Brad Lander.

ICE arrested a US citizen in an immigration court.

That US citizen is the NYC comptroller and mayoral candidate.

Reports are also that Lander’s NYPD security was also arrested.

This is a reminder that ICE has no authority over US citizens.

If they don’t want to look like the gestapo… they should stop doing gestapo like things.

They are a version of the Gestapo, just a pale sad one.

They could have easily presented a warrant.

Guess what they didn’t have.

They also have no authority to arrest US citizens.
I don't see where they arrested any citizen. Detention pursuant to an investigation IS NOT arrest.

They could have shown the removal orders.

They could have identified themselves.

None of that happened.
They don’t have to identify themselves or present identification to Brad Lander.

They don’t have to identify themselves or present identification to Brad Lander.
Are you seriously saying that law enforcement do not have to identify themselves to the citizenry?

Take that up with the OP.
I don't have to. Fox isn't a credible source.

Back to my point that a third party's assumption re another person's "intent" is not admissible in court: got a comment about this?

Are you seriously saying that law enforcement do not have to identify themselves to the citizenry?
Yes.

Worse: trump and his Administration minions are saying that law enforcement agents do not have to identify themselves to the citizenry.

Unlawful detention.

ICE has no authority over US citizens.
That's not at all true. When anyone interferes with their lawful duties they have the authority to detain and refer for prosecution.

Are you seriously saying that law enforcement do not have to identify themselves to the citizenry?
I am seriously saying they have no legal obligation to indulge the curiosity of some rando interfering with the performance of their duties.

And that idiot in standing on the Senate floor right now explaining to everyone what a blithering idiot he is and how, as a Senator, how being such an idiot is integral to his job.
