The ability to convince anyone of anything on a political message board is quite limited to begin with - people don't come here with an "open mind," to learn/be convinced of things, we come here because we enjoy arguing our points of view.

For me, an ideal thread here would be a good-faith debate between disagreeing rational adults. I try to give the benefit of the doubt (although that's become less true with time) and I'm not looking to convert anyone, I'm looking for mental exercise.

But of course even that is few and far between - and there's no such thing as a good-faith debate with a fascist.

It is certainly a "slur," according to the dictionary.

But that does not make it "nothing but..."

According to Google, a slur is a "an insinuation or allegation about someone that is likely to insult them or damage their reputation."

I'm glad that we agree that calling someone a "fascist" is an insinuation that is likely to insult or damage one's reputation. That was intended.
