The last few weeks have seen Trump choosing q-anon over the majority of his voters.
This is not a winnable strategy because q-anon are paranoid conspiracy theorists.
Trump has also been very foolish not to concede 2020 was a legitimate loss for him.
The collusion between the dnc and media is the real story, but Trump isn't talking about that.
Trump has also failed to condemn Jan 6th which was mostly done by q-anon members.
Trump has also began pandering to the religious right and neocons who are not really in line with the original MAGA movement.

The end result is that Trump has abandoned his true base which is center, center right Americans who wanted a form of secular American Nationalism that put a strong border, cultural unity, the Constitution, common sense before party politics, foreign interests, and profit based agendas.
I'm really really pissed at Trump because he still has time to correct his mistakes before 2024 but he doesn't want to. If anything, he's doubling down.
I will always give Trump credit for being the fire that started MAGA, but it seems his political calculations since losing in 2020 have made him a liability for the MAGA movement going forward. DeSantis it is.

I agree mostly, and he keeps making unforced errors. I would rather have another candidate this time, but we will see. Also being in trouble for the classified documents... I am not sure whether it is real or political yet, so I would appreciate clarification on that before I vote for him.

IF it turns out they fail to prosecute though and the possibility is that this is political, I reserve the right to change my mind about Voting for Trump.

Such complete and utter nonsensical bullshit.
Trump was NEVER courting the center, or center right, as you lay claim in your bullshit laden screed.
But you come of as flippy-floppy based on your post history, so I expect you will run back to Trump's ass, as quick as Lindsey Graham does
every time Trump puts out the clarion call.

Yea, right. We true Never-Trump Republicans were saying this from the time he came down the escalator before 2016 and made his first stupid comments designed to divide the nation. This one was easy to see coming, you're a little late to the party.

He was trash way before this, the fact that you were ever "with" him to begin with is telling on yourself.

Incredible how a certain segment of Americans witnessed a crazed birther lying about Obama's birth certificate and said "yo that's my dude gimme more of that"

I disagree. Trump stumbled into that fire. He didn't create it. And when he got the backing he wanted, he used it to serve himself. It wasn't Q's fault. It wasn't the media or a poor childhood. It just took a long time for people like you who believed in him to realize he's just another lying snake whose values are closer aligned to an Oligarch than to a free Democracy.

lol see how they cannot realize any new focus or divergence from their reasoning if it works to benefit conservatives?

You have a lot of hate in your heart.
I clearly stated Trump needs to come back to what got him elected the first time.

You never Trumpers are trash. You'd prefer a war criminal like Bush who is a slave to Israeli zionists than America. You sold out the country and the GOP.

Thank you for you dime store prognosis of my heart.
But, as stated before, he NEVER courted the center or center right, if you thought that, ever, you were and are sorely mistaken, which is the point of me calling out your bullshit.

Baby steps, but steps none the less. There is only one party in the coming election that supports American democracy. Will you still be supporting them? That's a rhetorical question, I don't expect you to answer. I would be interested in hearing your general thoughts about the question.

Contacting Russian intelligence? Or lying about his healthcare and infrastructure plans?

Happy to hear you are moving from Trump but your list of what drew you to him, or what you believe to be his base is rather baffling.
  • cultural unity? The only group he attempted to unify was white republicans with fringe beliefs. That he did develop some support amongst citizens of color was certainly not based upon any of his actual policies.
  • secular american nationalism? Despite knowing Trump has no committed religious beliefs of any kind, he pandered to the christian right like no president in memory.
  • Common sense before party politics? This one is perhaps the most baffling claim, in part because Trump was always about "his" party and the last time he exercised common sense was- never. Pandering to a pissed off bunch of white people is not "common sense."
  • The constitution? Trump has no clue what the constitution is or means, and his attempt to steal the election in 2020 via the "Eastman Plan" was the most direct assault on our constitution by any president, ever. Like his other supposed policies, Trump used the right buzz words to convince his followers that he was all about the constitution. But it's hard to be "all in" on something you don't know anything about.

Please, he hasn't had a change of heart, he is a pot stirrer. Stand by for his coming back into the fold thread in a few weeks.

All republican candidates pander to the far right INITIALLY, so I'm not gonna fault Trump for securing the religious right and far right vote in 2016. By 2018, Trump clearly showed his American Nationalist true colors and pretty much abandoned these groups. Unfortunately, since losing in 2020, he's not only re-pandering to these extremists, he's accepted them as his total base.

No, he wasn't trash enough for the OP.

Hate is like a malignant cancer.

I can never support the democrats until they purge the progressive ideology from their ranks.

You re-tell history all you like. He was never courting the Center or Center right like you claimed, and if you believe your own time-line, you should have been rid of him right after Charlottesville.
But you weren't. And I dare say, aren't even done with him now.

…dude Trump spent his entire time in office pandering to Israel. He pardoned war criminals.

Dumping Trump and bending over to DeSantis isn't much of a switch. But certainly no surprise. The days of pragmatic conservatism is long since over.
See, herein lies the problem. There will never be any unity anymore.
