"I Don't Know" - Trump (3 Viewers)

It's becoming better.
No it's not.

Trump is fixing what you liberals were destroying.

Is THIS what Trump is trying to "fix"? As of the end of Biden's term:

Are you ok with legal Americans being deported if you think it helps solve the illegal imigration problem?
No but you also have to realize that any massive undertaking will have mistakes made.

That's like asking if a person is ok with some military deaths from accidents when they go to war.

Should we get rid of prisons because some innocent people are sent to them?

And because of that, he has destroyed the Constitution and caused prices of produce to skyrocket because of a shortage of farm workers. Instead of deporting good, hardworking people, we should just make them legal. It would save millions in tax dollars and would be a boon to our economy.
When does making good hard working people citizens become too many for us?

Would you want 100 million more of them?

What about 200 million more?

Imagine how good our economy would be then.

The mistakes have been bloody obvious and not rectified.

We can take in a whole lot more people. They help the economy. They revive older cities by bringing in new residents and exciting new ideas. Our country was built by immigrants, some of whom were forced here against their will, and is kept alive and vital because of immigrants. I will also add that the birthrate in the US has fallen, so new residents are needed to keep numbers up. If it ever actually happened that we really were at capacity, we could take necessary steps at that time. But that won't happen in the foreseeable future.

We should get rid of for profit prisons, so that there is no incentive to keep them full.

Im sure this can be ended peacefully anyday now….

No incentive needed to keep them full since there are more people committing crimes than they can house.

How many more can we take in?

There has to be a cutoff point somewhere.

Are the mistakes worth going back to how it was before?

How many fewer children have been raped and killed because immigration plummeted?

Or were those just acceptable causalities to you?

You can't make such claims and say you have certainty that such crimes would happen.

Yes the mistakes are bad enough to not go down this authoritarian road.
There are other ways to solve the problem.

So you are putting forth the argument that it's possible no illegal immigrants will commit crimes in the future?

Really?

We have a big enough problem with our own citizens committing crimes without adding to it when we don't need to.

There is a process for someone to become a legal citizen and it should be followed. Your belief that we should just let everyone in is foolhardy.

So, you think it's ok that Trump is turning the US into an authoritarian nightmare to protect you from possible crimes?

I never once said I'd let everyone in so I'm unsure what gave that idea.
You can continue to make unfounded claims and throw insults at me for no reason if you like though but it's not helping your argument.

He couldn't say "YES".

Wild horses couldn't drag him away to say "YES".

He didn't even attempt a "yes, but..."

He's phoning it in and he doesn't care. He went on to explain that his very smart lawyers would save his sorry butt.
Those who voted for trump don't care that he's "phoning it in".

Then what is wrong with them using the established system to become a legal immigrant?

Why are you against that?

You know zero about capitalism do you?

How sad.

You probably claim to favor capitalism as a knee jerk thing but you dont understand it all do you?

I'm not against that.
What I am against is Trumps heavy handed tactics that don't need to be implemented.

Its badly broken

Doesn't come close to meeting the needs of the US economy.

fact: the us economy needs their labor now, not in a decade or two.

fact: the legal immigration system takes decades does not allow them to come now.

reality:

american business needs their labor. They need jobs. The legal immigration system fails both parties.

they come anyway. Contribute. Etc
Why are you against that?
Because it's broken.

Why are you against streamlining it so that it takes days not decades?

If it can take someone as high profile as John Oliver almost a decade to become a US citizen I dread to think how long it would take someone from a much less favourable nation than the UK.
