"I Do Think At A Certain Point You've Made Enough Money"
Barack Hussein Obama
Chief Redistributionist and Income Decider
i sort of agree. Obama, for example, is way overpaid. Isn't there a dog-catcher position somewhere he might do a better job?
ohwell. so much for limited government and equality before the law i suppose.
So Oprah, Pro athletes, movie stars, should be taxed more or paid less. If the Feds want more of the CEO's salary in taxes, then the others should pay. I wonder how this would affect Bill Gates charity foundation contributions, or the cash available for new investments? As we all know the goverment knows what is best for us.
I have to agree with him. At some point you just run out of things to buy. Big house, fast car, private jet, young pretty wife, then what? Then you have to start getting creative. (indoor bowling alley) After you've been creative, you have to get silly. (a second private jet for when you want to fly on a BLUE plane instead of a WHITE plane) Then you have to get stupid. (third or fourth houses you never live in) Then obscene. (million dollar parties for your dog)
Instead of the million dollar party for your dog, maybe we should use that money to pay for some road fixing or hiring some more ($)#ing air traffic controllers because the FAA is so underfunded we've got most of our controllers working overtime AND SURELY NOTHING CAN GO WRONG WITH THAT.
Woops. Got a little off topic there.
I know this may sound silly, but you don't honestly believe the FAA will continue to make money with the money spent on dog parties; do you? At least the second jet's worth actually goes to Producers.
Salary paid to controllers gets spent on things.
Which is inefficiently allocated because the FAA doesn't respond to market pressures.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I don't think money is necessary at all. All it does is complicate one's life, IMO.
What are the things that really matter in life? Love, family, friendship, health.
Money can't buy any of that.
At best, it can buy you some toys and trinkets that might provide a fleeting distraction from your unhappiness.
I guess money can buy you some physical comfort and leisure, but I think true happiness lies in expanding your comfort zone, and in being useful.
When I look around at people who have a lot of money, they don't seem happy.
A lot of poor people don't either, but it's because they covet the toys and trinkets more affluent people flaunt in their faces. If they had them, though, they still wouldn't be happy, I don't think.
I don't know the answer. I wish money were less of an issue in our society. We're a wealthy society; there's plenty of money for everyone to have everything they need.
I just wish things were different. I wish more people saw things the way I do, but I've come to accept that almost nobody does.
Bush was the Decider on issues of National Security.
Obama is busy filling in all the gaps for our personal and business lives.
SHOCKING! :shock:I have to agree with him.
So what, it's their money, wtf do you care?At some point you just run out of things to buy. Nope, you're right on topic. The discussion is on Obama's belief that you only need so much money and how the rest could be "better" spent. 100% income tax on pay over X amount appeals to you doesn't it?Instead of the million dollar party for your dog, maybe we should use that money to pay for some road fixing or hiring some more ($)#ing air traffic controllers because the FAA is so underfunded we've got most of our controllers working overtime AND SURELY NOTHING CAN GO WRONG WITH THAT.

No, it does not. But that's how you see all liberals so it really doesn't matter what I say to you.
i wish i had made another dollar
Maybe he's referring to all of the money that they've printed since he has been in office.
Who are you, or anyone else, to edermine what is 'enough' for me to earn?I have to agree with him. At some point you just run out of things to buy.
You REALLY mean to say that you disagree with EVERY decision GWB made?Yes, he was. And he screwed up every time he decided on something.
Maybe he's referring to all of the money that they've printed since he has been in office.
