No, the people in my country saw the sense in banning a gun that has no use other than to kill people.
We do not have politicians and gun lobby groups telling us to be so afraid that we should just shoot first and deny after.

Not possible as there is no one alternative. There are instead lots of alternatives to the many causes of violence in society. Tackle those and the number of violent attacks will reduce. Just ban guns and you bring back the days of prohibition. Where many will be criminals.

Putting regulations on guns will not stop violence, as the two are not cause and effect. Regulating guns will however force gun owners to be more accountable for their guns.
