I am never signing up for ObamaCare.

Actually your tax dollars already pay for my healthcare, are you sill in the service or a veteran receiving benefits? Tax paid brother.

Hell depending on how long you were you've probably consumed more tax dollars than you would ever pay back in a dozen life times
State employee. Earned compensation from a job is not a hand-out like subsidized healthcare. And yes the VA is taking care of a service-connected issue resulting from my deployment. Any employer is liable for damage an employee accrues in the performance of the job. If someone get's your cancer from their private-sector job, their employer is just as liable.

So let's take all these subsidized people and put them to work. And not just healthcare subsidized either, but anyone on TANIF, food-stamps, etc. Let people start earning what they keep.

State employee. Covered by state insurance no doubt.

The BS pile grows.

Wow! A government employee that is "self-sufficient" without any help from the government. That is a rare thing to find. I have only seen that 20 or 30 million times.

Something tells me that these f****ers are serious when they pretend they don't receive any help from the government yet that's where their paycheck comes from. Even though I have seen this once or twice, it still amazes me.

Soldiers are state employees, yes. Of course any employer has to cover illness or injury incurred on-the-job, but if we want coverage beyond that then we have to buy it ourselves. I don't have the money for that, I'm even canceling my small HSA so as to help pay off student loans. Obama can forget all about me signing up for anything. The money just isn't there to do it.

An earned income isn't 'help' unless it's self-help. You worked for that, it wasn't given to you.

Amazing. I have had this discussion in the past with a man by the name of Mistervitis.

Take a gander if you will.

Debate politics is a place to debate politics.

I want to apologize to everybody that has read this thread. My political views are identical to another participant in this particular thread. I ended up having a fierce debate with this person even though we are 100% in agreement with out political views. I was guilty of debating for the sake of debating. It was fun but it was not a productive thing.

Sometimes government employees fail to realize where they get their paycheck. That angers me severely. Here are a few examples of the things that got me upset and a quick sarcastic comment to my fellow conservative.

I am going to go out on a limb here. Misterveritis is probably working for a defense contractor that gets 100% of their funds from the government.

No comments are necessary. The receipt of government funds is too obvious to mention.

By his own logic let me say this and I am certain that he will understand if he happens to read this message. He is a moocher, not a man. He makes excuses for his greed. He cannot conceal who he is. May he always wear his government chains lightly.

Maybe he will hold my hand as we both go down together. He and I both are receiving government funds for our livelihood.

I don't enjoy bumming off the government. He doesn't seem to enjoy it either. Both of us seem to be alive. If the government quit all funding, he and I both would find a way to live. The only difference is that I support the cutting off of all government funding even the government funding that I benefit from. He only supports cutting off government funding that benefits other people. He doesn't want to end the government funding that he is benefitting from. It's a small difference but this attitude cost the government more in the long run. After all, if the government protects the funding of each group who thinks this way, nothing ever gets cut. This is what some people call, "Conservative." I call this something different. The people who think this way are winning. They all get to keep the government benefits that they are "entitled" to. It's an entitlement mentality. I am entitled but he's not. The other guy says, "I am entitled but he's not. Get it? It's a vicious non-productive cycle.

I don't think he will quit his job. He gets too rich off of the government. The only difference is that I don't get rich off of the government. :(

How? That makes no sense. Moochers can't pay taxes. It's impossible. He may pay $x in taxes but if the government pays his him a $3x salary how in the hell does that make him a net contributor to the tax system? This makes him a moocher and a bum by his own logic.

I may not pay taxes but I do assist my boss in getting rich. My boss pays taxes to help fund military pay, military retirement pay and funding for defense contractor. If I was an arrogant prick, I could make the accusation that this bozo is bumming off me while I pay his way. I'm not an arrogant prick. I think everybody should make the best of their situation.

I have done that and so has Misterveritis. I applaud him for that. Misterveritis, you are a good man and I apologize for making a big deal about our minor differences. We are both conservatives who want to see the government drastically cut spending. From now on, you are my best buddy and I refuse to be mean to you anymore.

Crop out the relevant portion, please.

The premise of this thread does not make sense to me. How does one not sign up for Obamacare? Does that mean not buying insurance and paying the penalty? Does that mean buying insurance but not claiming subsidies?

It means I think you are the most (deleted to avoid being penalized) that has ever existed but I have already exhausted enough energy into my discussion with Mistervitis. I probably lack the energy to give you the lashing that you deserve for being such a (deleted to avoid being penalized).

That's all that it means. Nothing more.
Ok, and is that supposed to mean something to me? Am I supposed to know this other person or have read your previous discussions?

If you are bumming off of the government you should never criticize others for bumming off of the government.
Oh well that's easy: I'm not bumming off the government. They employ me part-time and also cover an illness I incurred on-the-job. I have a full-time civilian job, pay taxes, and can bearly afford my own bills let alone other people's bills. I just don't have the money to cover others. They're going to have to go get a job like I did and pay their own bills like adults.

Doing what? Who do you want to put out of work in order to force the out of work to work?

Signing up for ObamaCare requires deliberate action. If you do nothing, you aren't signing up for anything. In my case, I'm canceling what I have because I can't afford all this ****. I simply don't have the money.

Um...you could have probably got on the exchange and then got tax subsidies to help with the rest. You may have actually ended up paying less and getting better coverage. And if you are a tax payer, then really, by conservative logic aren't the subsidies just letting you keep more of your own money so you can pay for the insurance? I am not seeing where the hand out comes in here.

Whatever needs to be don. In the service we call it "secondary duty" or "other duties as required".

Whoever is drawing a hand-out.

You sound a lot like Franklin Roosevelt. He proposed and established programs where he put people who were taking hand outs to work. The problem he experienced was that he put people out of work by putting people to work for free or a low wage. Then the new people who were out of work exacerbated the problem because they took advantage of those programs which put more people out of work. It is a vicious cycle. So you probably should figure out specifically what needs to be done that nobody is doing.

No thanks, I pay my own bills like an adult.

So...being allowed to keep more of your own tax money is considered a hand out?

I am assuming you stopped reading at the first sentence.

Paying their own bills, for one.

So are you actually thinking about any of this in a rational way or just rambling and ranting? I know you are capable of rational thought, so it seems odd to me to see you in such an emotional state.
