WILMINGTON, Del.—A plea deal that President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, had reached with prosecutors appeared to be in jeopardy on Wednesday, after a dramatic court hearing in which prosecutors sparred with defense lawyers about the prospect of further charges.

The younger Biden had expected to plead guilty to misdemeanor tax charges and had entered into an agreement to avoid a gun charge. Prosecutors insisted on Wednesday that the investigation into Hunter Biden’s activities remained ongoing, and said in response to a question from the judge that he could face additional foreign lobbying charges.

In response, Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Chris Clark, said he disagreed with that interpreta-tion, believed the agreement foreclosed the possibility of additional charges, and said: “As far as I’m concerned, the plea agreement is null and void.”

The judge took a brief break to give both sides time to see whether they could reach an agreement after all.

Interesting development. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'll wait to see what Mariotti says about this. Too many ways to read it, most of them (probably) wrong.

In fact, even he initially misread the news.

Weiss may be morphing from hero of the left to "EVIL TRUMP APPOINTED PROSECUTOR" of the left.

James Comey is laughing his ass off somewhere.

the judge had some misgivings about the prosecution's case as well.....if they don't take this plea deal he will never be found guilty in a court, because lots of witnesses will start pleading the 5th starting with the so called IRS agents that were paid to go to Congress and testify.

If he gets stronger sentencing or they find additional crimes to charge him with... so what? It's a shame this type of shit is so important to people.

the key is 'if' the judge thinks they did a piss poor job investigating in the first place.

Good.

Yes it is, as is how this will play out.

I haven't been following closely the details of the alleged crime. I just read up a bit and realized that I infrequently shop at the store where the gun was disposed of. Weird paths crossing with history with Delaware being such a small state.

LOL. GQP nutters also drive cars and drink beer, ergo cars and beer must be GQP too.
That's some really dumb shit to post... which is rather expected, given your propensity to regurgitate GQP nutter hysteria.

So the position of Hunter’s lawyer is the DOJ better put him above the law for the rest of his life or else it goes to trial. YES!! Take the trial! Do it now!!!

For normal people, when the President’s family is in legal jeopardy it makes the news.

All you need know about the gun crime is that Hunter convinced a woman to dispose of the evidence for him and her thanks for that was probably Chlamydia. 😂

Still, this isn't important unless you are a GQP loon.
it's important because it indicates whether the judicial system is treating him fairly, equitably ... including in comparison to others, without connections, who might be in the same legal circumstance

Things got so bad that Mac Isaac was forced to close down the shop at Trolley Square and flee the state on Nov. 5, 2020. He spent almost a year holed up with family in Lakewood, Colo. and spent time in woodworking school.

When he applied for unemployment in December 2020, Isaac ran into complications with government officials.
I was getting a lot of death threats,” John Paul Mac Isaac said. “I had to have a Wilmington trooper parked in front of my shop all the time.

“There were multiple situations where people came in and you could tell they were not there to have a computer fixed. And if there were not other people in the shop, I don’t know what would have happened,” he told The Post. “I was having vegetables, eggs, dog s–t thrown at the shop every morning.”

Mac Isaac, 45, said his life was completely upended after the laptop contents became public in a series of reports by The New York Post in October 2020.

Be interesting to see how this plays out but it is becoming clear this wasn't the "sweet" plea deal the right was trying to make it out to be nor was the DOJ treating Hunter Biden with preferential treatment. Looks like they are still investigating Hunter for crimes. As I say we'll soon see. Will also soon see the spin the right puts on it because we can be certain they will.

To be clear this is my first thoughts on the matter until we see how it is resolved.

The Hunter Biden plea proceedings have restarted and the president’s son has agreed to a limited agreement that covers 2014 to 2019 and only includes conduct related to tax offenses, drug use and gun possession.

President Joe Biden's son will still plead guilty to the tax misdemeanors for 2017 and 2018, but the agreement will also cover his tax-related conduct for the three years prior.

The two sides have agreed that this deal does not shield him from potential future charges.

Link is to live news, so it's likely to update content. But the quote is what is going on now.

going to take this veer from the OP further off track and question why someone with sightedness issues would choose to enroll in a woodworking program

don't lose track that Hunter has still been charged with 2 misdemeanor tax evasion things.
