"Dem Donna Deegan"?

Quick! Somebody write a song with that title! It will be an immediate hit! :)

Hopefully a sign that Florida is waking up to the reality that is DeSantis. Trump is doing well against DeSantis in the FL Republican prinaries...not good.

Don't say "dem". Say "Democrat".

Sorry--I thought "Dem" was just an abbreviated way of saying "Democrat," but I guess it might be taken as offensive.

Anyway, since the word "Democrat" will mess up the rhythm of the song title, I guess we'd better just drop the idea. :)

Republicans corrupt it to "dims". Let's not give them any more leverage.

And sorry, I should have been more polite about it.

I really can't get worked up about it unless the context makes it an obvious slur.
In the old days when political rivalry was a bit more like sports rivalries, I got called "lib" by conservative friends and I called them "cons" sometimes.

No, no, Gateman--you were fine! :)

I honestly didn't realize it was a slur. I thought I'd heard pundits on the news channels say it, but I guess it just went over my head. I'm not the smartest stopwatch in the watermelon, so I sincerely appreciate your telling me about that.

It's a low key attack. An attempt at diminishing the other side. You don't have to get worked up about it, but please don't fall into the habit of using it.

I was kind of thinking like you, Checker (please don't take that as an insult :) )--I thought those were just shortened versions of longer words, you know, to save time. But I'm glad I now know otherwise, and I'll be more careful about it.

YOu have heard pundits and news personalities say it. They are falling into the trap.

Please be careful that you don't.

Get used to it cons.....

Asswipes like DeSantis and Ted Cruz and their ilk are not gonna have a good time going forward. Gen Z actually votes....and they are pissed off.

From a poster on Twitter...

"There is a seismic shift happening right now across the nation as a large pro-democracy, pro-normal coalition joins forces to reject the fascist overreach of the extremist Republican Party.

We are witnessing this phenomenon in elections from coast to coast, defying poll after poll.

This app is now algorithmically designed to give you the sense that right wing authoritarians are far more popular than they are, when in reality they represent a miniscule piece of the population.

Their ideas are unpopular. Hateful. Bigoted.

They spew conspiracy theories and lies.

And Americans are tired of their chaos.

They can have fun deluding themselves into thinking they are more popular than they are. But pro-democracy Americans will keep putting in the work to restore decency and normalcy to our nation and reject their hate and division election after election.

2024 is coming. Buckle up."

Where's the "rigged election"? folks?
Is MyCrackhead Pillow Guy heading to Florida to demand to see the voting machines?

If Republicans were smart they would see what's happening and change. But they can't because the Republican base is the problem. They demand extremism and Insurrection and all that bullshit.

Is Fascist DeSantis is NOT paying attention?
Fascist Trump the Rump is going to jail!

That's it. Jacksonville is now officially a shit city run by another democrat, ask any republican.
Yup, now its one of the worst cities ever and always has been. /sarcasm
