You critisize 'wacko lefties' and Hillary Clinton in the same breath? Which is it?
Howard who?He wants to, as an independent....the plan is the D's nominate someone too far left of the nation... then there is Trump.....we pick the only sane choice, Howard.

Twitter is pissed on the fear that Howard would split the Anti Trump vote and give Trump a chance of winning.

I think Howard would never do anything to jeopardize being adored at parties, and now that it has been explained to him that he is not to jeopardize the D candidate Thrashing Trump he will quickly dump this idea.

I'm not very interested in a bored $billionaire running a vanity campaign myself. And I love the "centrist independent" label. It's beautiful. Everyone thinks of himself or herself as 'independent' - not part of the crowd, we independent thinkers think for ourselves! - and what's wrong with a centrist who simply looks for the best answer to a problem. Oh, billionaire centrist independent save us!
I guess he's got a book coming out, and maybe it will give us his ideas, but I'm not expecting much. I guess nothing changes till it changes, though, so who knows.
There is a bigger picture here where because of the failure of journalism more than any other one thing the elites in the coastal cities who have long run America dont know where America is, and what's more they barely care, certainly not enough to go find America. This rolls into what Peterson says about how the failed universities have since they gave up on education trained up a group of radicals that he estimates now number 5%-6% of the population, and since so many of the elites have had their brains molded there that 5-6% might be enough to hijack the country, so now they are making their move. I have not heard him say it but clearly the experience of TRUMP THE EXISTENTIAL THREAT is a prime motivator for not waiting.
EDIT: The big story here is that conservatives not stepping up to deal with the rot of the university and the vast decline of journalism was a big mistake.

I could never vote for Trump, so I'm with you there. But there are a number of Democrats whom I also couldn't vote for. Whether Shultz runs or not won't stop me from voting third party again as I did in 2016 if the Democrats come up with a wacko leftist as their nominee. Trump at this time doesn't stand a snow balls chance in Hades of being reelected. But the Democrats nominating some wacko Northeastern far out leftist would let Trump back into the game. I firmly believe any other Democrat, alive or dead would have beat Trump easily in 2016 with the lone exception of Hillary.
The Democrats made that huge mistake once, ignoring the wants of America as a whole. They certainly could do it again in 2020. It wasn't like the Democrats didn't have advance warning about Hillary, a poll in February of 2016 showed 56% of all Americans wanted the democrats to nominate someone other than Hillary. The Democrats ignored America as a whole, Trump is that consequence. Will they do it again in 2020? Time will tell.
Last election was Joe Biden's time - but with all DNC and MSM power behind Clinton - combined with all her money - caused him to chicken out. His boat sailed and his day now is past. But in 2016 he was THE Democrat MOST capable of handling Trump's sneering style. No one can out sneer Joe Biden - and Joe Biden knows how to talk to old white people, which is the core of Trump's support.
Another angry, ranting white haired old woman like Elizabeth Warren? A pure socialist like Harris?
We can't know what Trump's chances are until we know who the Democratic Party alternative nominee is.
I agree. Perhaps Joe knew that Hillary was chosen to be the Democrats 2016 nominee in a secret meeting between Obama, Bill and Hillary prior to the 2012 election. The DNC and Democratic state party leaders did all they could to make sure that happened by jury rigging the primaries in Hillary's favor. I'm sure Joe could have handled Trump and would have won going away. I would have voted for Joe instead of third party against Trump, that is for sure. I always like him even when he was a senator. What a shame.
Yes, until the Democrats choose their nominee, no one can be certain what will happen. They very well could choose another Hillary Clinton type candidate that ends up being more disliked than Trump. Warren was one of those I was talking about in my post. Winning a national election is all about nominating someone who can appeal to independents, attract their votes. Hillary didn't do that or couldn't. Warren would have a hard time attracting them also.
If they choose Pocahontas, Trump will win.
I still see Michelle Obama as a potential run. She is probably the strongest potential candidate the Democratic Party has - IF she can continue to control her temper and radical views - meaning she would have to stay on script.
I wouldn't go that far in predicting. But the choice of Warren certainly let's Trump back into the game.

I think too that the progressive base, Our Revolution, Justice Democrats etc are going to really push for a hard left to win. They already are making medicare for all, free college etc the litmus test for support. They then bash the others. Kamala is being bashed for her role as a prosecutor, Gillibrand for being a fraud, Booker for being a Wall St shill etc. They are pushing for Sanders, Warren, Brown etc to win. So I do think if Biden were to win, they will go after him as well for being a centrist. I heard one of them saying they dont care about indies as "people are now in the progressive camp." Its that thinking that got Trump elected in the first place.
McGovern redux.
It could be especially if a far leftie wins the nod and Schultz jumps in. We could see Trump win a lot of EC votes and still be around 40% popularity. Its such a mess. I was listening to the guy that heads up the Justice Democrats and he actually said "80% of US voters are progressives today."
