Goobieman, please stick to the topic at hand, rather than try and turn this into all about aps.

When questioning the credibility of someone's posts due to the posts themselves, you ARE addressing the topic at hand.

But, given that there's no way for her to argue around her obvious, blatant hypocricy, and that anyone reading this thread will see it for exactly what it is, there's no need for me to continue on with it.

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

Speaking on behalf of Republicans is what Ann Coulter does for a living. She promotes the Republican agenda in her writing. She is paid to speak at Republican events, like this one--where she was cheered by attendees. She appears often on many cable tv shows representing the Republican perspective. Her books denigrating liberals are best sellers. Her vile remarks are praised and defended by rightwing bloggers and message board posters like yourself. Instead of criticizing her remarks, you said Howard Dean should just STFU! You can't compare her to Sean Penn; he makes his living acting, doesn't work full time as an anti-war spokesman, and most likely doesn't get paid for it.

The Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese issued the following statement:

“We demand that every single Presidential candidate in attendance at this conference, along with Vice President Cheney stand up and publicly condemn this type of gutter-style politics,” continued Solmonese. “If not, then their silence will be deafening to the vast majority of Americans who believe this type of language belongs no where near the discussions about the future of our country.”

This is what Howard Dean said:

"There is no place in political discourse for this kind of hate-filled and bigoted comments. While Democrats and Republicans may disagree on the issues, we should all be able to agree that this kind of vile rhetoric is out of bounds. The American people want a serious, thoughtful debate of the issues. Republicans -- including the Republican presidential candidates who shared the podium with Ann Coulter today -- should denounce her hateful remarks."

Solmonese and Dean are right.

Again I disagree Republicans never said she was their spokesperson nor has she said she was. Simply because she is a republican does not make her there spokesman. As another poster pointed out if she were the head of the RNC I could see your point, if she were a senator or held any type of political office I could see your point but she is nothing more then a very vocal republican. I mean why should anyone denounce anything she says, she is not a campaign manager she is nothing more then someone that makes money off her outrageous views.

LOL While I disagree with your calling me a hypocrite under this circumstance, I would admit that I am a hypocrite on many issues, and I am not embarrassed to admit that.

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

I kinda like Dean. I do not agree with him on much but I find him to be somewhat candid and refreshing. But when you are playing with the big boys you gotta learn how to pick your battles and recognize those that are beneath you. Dean getting into it with Coulter is about as respectable as rosie vs trump. Coulter comes out the winner on this one based on the plain and simple fact that she was able to engage someone who really should have had his big boy pants on vs. playing "yo mamma" out in the school yard.

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

LOL All you and Cold Dirt care about is bashing Howard Dean. Nevermind that Ann Coulter is a low-class w hore. *yawn*

Let me see...you can call a living, breathing human a low class w hore and that is OK, since she doesn't post on this board...but if she did post here you couldn't say that because of the ad hominum rules...so, you are admitting you only act like a decent human being when rules force you to. Otherwise, you think it is OK to act like the low class w hore you like to bash.

That is how it is. Sorry that you and Goobie see it differently.

A what? Could you provide documentation for your statement? If she is then who has she been with? Please list them in alphabetical order.

It kills me the mouths of some of you liberals........the profanity you use to make your point..... finger pointing and name calling.

Now I cant take Coulter all the time and I think she went over the top by calling him that name. but there is a double standard and
Democrats and libs do the same thing and get a free pass. Coulter is mouthy but extremely intellectual and intelligent.

People on the right are just as guilty of using derogatory terms against people on the left that they don't agree with. Most of the time the insults, just like with the liberal insults, have absolutely nothing to do with the issues and deal more with the personal appearance or slight flaws of the person that they don't agree with. In fact, ironically, this topic is about exactly that.

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

Only a nasty kindred spirit of Coulter would laugh at what she said....

well i guess i'm just a nasty kindred spirit hahaha

Democrats never said Michael Moore or Cindy Sheehan were their spokesperson but they seem to be brought up as leaders of the pack anyway.

Ann Coulter is a bigot who noticed her pocketbook shrinking because she was out of the spotlight to long. What better way to increase your publicity?

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

Well, I am of the belief that Ann Coulter should be put in rehab regardless of whether she describes John Edwards.

Oh, and she should work on her comic timing.

Ann Coulter is not "simply a republican." As an author, a columnist, and a commentator, she regularly and faithfully disseminates rightwing talking points. She is frequently referred to as a conservative commentator and rightwing pundit. How does that differ from "conservative spokesperson"? She not an official spokesperson, like Tony Snow, but she is seen as a conservative spokesperson because she is a prominent conservative talking head. That is why Republicans should denounce her outrageous statements--to disassociate themselves from her, and some of them have.

Sorry but she is does not speak for the republican party, pure and simple.

That's your opinion. Others would disagree with you.

Wouldn't be the first time people disagreed with me. Don't get me wrong I think she is way over the top but I don't think the republicans should have to apologize for the stuff she says.

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

Then why is she invited to conventions that prominent Republicans attend and then given standing ovations for her speeches of hate against liberals?

She DOSE NOT represent the republican party, what is so hard to understand about that. I seem to remember Ms. Kerry opening her mouth and inserting her foot on a number of occasions should I assume that since she spoke at the 2004 Dem conference that she speaks for the Dem party? That is ridiculous simply because some speaks at a conference does not mean that they represent an entire party.

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

This from the man who reffered to Republicans as "evil," "braindead," and "corrput." Kettle meat pot.

The hypocrisy of the left.........Its unbelieveable

Are you seriously claiming there is no hypocrisy on the right?

Re: Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edw

I don't think the republicans should have to apologize for the stuff she says.

If Republicans remain silent, or worse yet, express approval of her vicious, bigoted remarks, they allow her to define the entire Republican party as vicious bigots.

A group of conservative bloggers understands this and has written an open letter to CPAC:

"...Conservatism treats humans as they are, as moral creatures possessing rational minds and capable of discerning right from wrong. There comes a time when we must speak out in the defense of the conservative movement, and make a stand for political civility. This is one of those times.

"At the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2006, Coulter referred to Iranians as “ragheads.” She is one of the most prominent women in the conservative movement; for her to employ such reckless language reinforces the stereotype that conservatives are racists.

"At CPAC 2007 Coulter decided to turn up the volume by referring to John Edwards, a former U.S. Senator and current Presidential candidate, as a “******"...Coulter’s vicious word choice tells the world she care little about the feelings of a large group that often feels marginalized and despised. Her word choice forces conservatives to waste time defending themselves against charges of homophobia rather than advancing conservative ideas.

"CPAC sponsors, the Age of Ann has passed. We, the undersigned, request that CPAC speaking invitations no longer be extended to Ann Coulter. Her words and attitude simply do too much damage (to conservatives)."

As far as I know no republican has expressed approval for what she said but why do they have to say anything, if they don't come out and approve of it why is that not enough.

What, do you mean on Navy Pride's side? Why, that's impossible! Everyone knows that the right is good and pure, and not at all like the evil left in any way.
