You cant tax the rich enough to pay for everything....

Who is going to appraise everything? Are you just taxing boats, cars, houses....transparent wealth along with stocks

Or are you going after things that may be hidden also? Coins, art, gold....

What about businesses and farms? Very few are cash rich....so families will have to sell farms and businesses to pay taxes

You add all of this up....and you think everyone is just going to say, "where do i send my check?"

Don't just say cut spending. Give specific amounts and specific programs and provide certified scientific estimates of what impact that will have.

I said LOOK at every department...every program...and decide what needs to be spent, and what doesnt
Everyone knows we waste a shitload of money in government every year....no one does anything about it
SO...lets reign it in....freeze every department at a minimum....determine what is a want vs a NEED
Cut out all of the extraneous bullshit that we dont have to spend...

We, the liberal people, want those programs. The Constitution says we can have them. Part of the purpose of the Constitution is to promote the general welfare. That is exactly what we are doing with those programs. Not just serving the rich, which is all the Republicans want to do.

Hate to break it to you - but the UK has wealth taxation…France taxes wealth…and most of Europe has been discussing increasing wealth taxes and closing loop holes for years.

Japan has the highest tax rates in the world and is contemplating raising taxes on highest earners and adding a wealth tax.

Hong Kong would be an option - it’s where plenty of wealthy people already hide from taxes and is regarded as a tax haven. They can move in real upclose and personal with other tax evaders there I suppose

Saying it is a spending problem does not make it so.

Taxes have been cut on the super wealth over and over. Their wealth has skyrocketed as the federal debt has. These two things are connected.

Social Security and Medicare can easily be fixed by adding far more workers paying into the system. Those workers are clamoring to get into the USA. We need to let more immigrants in. They add to the economy with their own spending. They pay taxes. They pay into the system. Americans are not having as many babies as when maga thinks America 'was great.' That is reducing the number of young people working and paying into the system. Easily resolved by allowing more legal immigration. Jobs are waiting to be filled. This is insane to have all these open jobs and all these workers wanting to take them but conservatives won't let the solution happen. Makes zero sense. Sure, keep the bad ones out. But they are not all bad. Actually most wanna be immigrants are good people who just want to work and contribute their human capital to our economy. Let them!

Are you aware of what's involved in giving up US citizenship? Most wealthy people own real estate. Are you expecting that they will sell it (which will likely be a taxable event)? Do you expect them to cavalierly say good bye to family and friends? You should look this stuff up; it is more than a notion.

And more importantly, how will they make any more money after we cut them off from selling in the US economy.
