How Will History Explain & Judge The Mass Cult Of Trump Hysteria?

Correct. There is no sign of abating and there has never before been this kind of, or level of, attack on a President.

There is really only one fundamental interest that propels this hysteria...money. All the rest are nothing more than concocted, contrived reasoning used to justify the hysteria.

When Trump wins in 2020, the hysteria will continue...in fact, it will increase...until he leaves the WH in 2025. After that, the major players will stop their attacks and start working on the next President (if necessary), while the rabble, like a witch hunting mob, will refuse to wander off and go home. The media, always looking for a new source of controversy to cash in on, will continue to incite the rabble.

No. The hysteria leveled at GHW Bush was just a dry run compared to what's going on now.

Nothing. As I said, it's all about money.

I have never seen this level of president worship in history of America with the small possible exception of JFK.

You weren't around when Obama was President, were you?

The years-long hysteria surrounding the campaign and election of Donald Trump shows no sign of abating, and as it continues, it must be considered as a significant cultural phenomenon arguably without precedent in our nation's history.

What cultural, political, psychological and economic interests propel and sustain this unprecedented hysteria?

With Trump poised to win re-election in 2020, will we continue to witness the phenomenon through 2025, or will it somehow resolve itself prior to this time?

Have our older posters witnessed such sustained national hysteria at other times, and without significant concrete stimuli? (The Vietnam Era saw much mass upheaval, but those were times of genuine national crisis.)

Short of Trump's unlikely defeat in 2020, what do you believe might quiet the panic?

Trump will be remembered as a disaster of a one-term president. His name will become synonymous with racism and incompetence.

What makes Trump a cult is the fact that he can blatantly lie and do anything without losing the support of his cult members.

Trump said the CEO of U.S. Steel called him and told him they were building 6 new plants. Did that happen?

If you know it didn't happen and Trump just made it up, how do you continue to support him?

Was Trump Michigan Man of the Year? Did he once admit that he makes up awards and gives them to himself?

Do you know for a fact that the CEO didn't call Trump? Do you know for a fact that he didn't tell Trump that they were building 6 new plants?

Get back to me when you figure out what you actually know.

No. The Trump hater's spin and nonsense about Trump's actions cause people to react with hysteria.

And thank you for finally asking an honest question.

Hysteria breeds hysteria; an emotional contagion.

I think you know for a fact that it didn't happen. There such a thing as reasonable doubt and then there is unreasonable doubt.

Meghan Cox, a spokeswoman for U.S. Steel, told us that Trump wasn’t privy to any exclusive information.

"All of our operational changes have been publicly announced and all information shared with the federal government has been properly disclosed and made available on our website," Cox said.

No, U.S. Steel is not opening six new mills as Donald Trump said | PolitiFact

Yes, I know for a fact that Trump lied.

Oh, and sometimes Trump claimed it was 7 new plants. And just recently he claimed that the Steel industry was doing well because of him. But they're having a terrible year. They had to shut down some plants and lay people off.

I don't know what more proof you need.

I think history will judge the cult of trump like the judge the cult of Hitler

Whoopsie - wrong thread.

You're thinking of nearly every OTHER thread here.

THIS thread is about the phenomenon of Anti-Trump hysteria; the mass cult thereof.

An honest misunderstanding I'm sure.

:)

I have never seen this level of president worship in history of America with the small possible exception of JFK.

The deplorables dropped St Ronnie like a hot potato for this orange mess.

Dumb is supporting a baffoon like Trump. His debate performance was an exact prelude to his Trainwreck, corrupt and lying Presidency. Any intelligent observer was spun up about Trump way before the election.

perhaps the most surreal moment of a surreal evening, moderator Anderson Cooper had to tell a major-party nominee for president, “You bragged that you had sexually assaulted women. Do you understand that?”

The Republican candidate, in the middle of the worst stretch of an often-turbulent campaign, was peevish and erratic, frequently interrupting his opponent. He seemed even more ill at ease than he had during the first debate. Once again, he inhaled noisily over the microphone. And once again, he delivered a string of inaccurate statements. With Republicans abandoning Trump in droves just 29 days before the election, Trump seemed content to drive all of them off—perhaps even his own running mate

And yet Trump is really nothing more than thoroughly human - wildly imperfect & all that.

Clinton, on the other hand, comes across like an evil robot.

But none of this explains the source of the mass hysteria around Trump.

Methinks history will be far kinder to Trump than to his incensed detractors...

Where is your evidence that it's some kind of hysteria? Lots of leaders become unpopular. Trump is highly unpopular even around the world.

I would classify someone referring to themselves as "The Chosen One" and claiming that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose supporters as a cult leader.

I hope you can recover and be deprogrammed when all this ends and Trump is in prison.

I don't think I've ever seen you actually make a point and I've been reading this forum for over a year. Mostly, your posts are full of misinformation and lack of understanding.

A sidetrack, but I don't agree.

Mycroft is one of the many rational conservatives here.

Is that your perception? Anyway, we're not talking about the media. We're talking about supporters.

The left wing media were Obama supporters.

So...you don't know if the CEO did or did not call Trump. You don't know if he did or did not tell Trump they were building 6 new plants.

But, of course, your Trump hatred makes you doubt it...and that's all you have. That's not "reasonable doubt". That's doubt colored by bias.

The only proof I need is facts. Your spin, speculation, innuendo and hyperbole contains zero facts.

I made my point.

That the media are full of Trump and Obama supporters? Every one knows that. Not sure why you keep deflecting to the media when we're talking about ordinary supporters. The media does the coverage, opinions and quips. Thats just natural.
