Well.. in many cases..like that one. They can't leave..they are literally drowning in their own lung fluids from covid.How abusive and stupid. I'm sure it's understandably a matter of $$ and your practice's policies, but I'd stand up and ask him/her..."if I'm so incompetent, so wrong, why would you accept any medical treatment from me?" And open the door for them. (Not ask them to leave...just to show how irrational they were. If they want to leave, let 'em.)
Or in the case of the husband...we don't want to harm the wife by having him take her out of there because we angered him.
I have patients that are afraid to get vaccinated because they fear if their husband finds out they are vaccinated. The husband will divorce them.
Money generally isn't an issue since covid is expensive to treat and often you lose money on covid patients.
