I learned from my dad to save and pay upfront for everything except a house and then pay that off as soon as possible. I know that's not always realistic, but I cringe when I see friends putting luxuries on credit cards. That's just stupid.Do you follow a certain plan to achieve your financial goals?
I don't know. I've got a bunch of medical bills for me and my kids, from before we had insurance.
Bill collectors call me all the time, but I just ignore them. I never plan to pay it, and it doesn't affect my life any. I don't know the amount, nor do i care. I'm sure it's over a hundred thousand, all told.
You feel no obligation to pay it back?
Nope.
I think medical care is a right, and that it should be free.

Other than that, i don't think I have any debt.
I'm sorry for you. I know how that feels with medical bills.:-(
I couldn't sleep and I hated answering the phone. It was affecting my life. I finally faced the problem and talked to them. I agreed to pay like $25 to $30 a month to the different drs and hospitals and they were very nice about it. When my husband died I continued the payments but was eventually contacted about the one HUGE bill I owed and they said they were going to write the whole thing off. They even sent me flowers!
So now I've got the rest down to under a thousand.
So, all I have to worry about is waiting on my free Obamacare so I can be insured. LOL
Well, it's not a right and it's not free. So....
It is a right, and it's free everywhere else in the industrialized world except the US.
It's not my fault my lame-ass country is behind the times, human rights-wise.
That doesn't mean I have to be. I'm free to just ignore them.

Had a coil go out on my car last week and had to charge it.
So about $230ish.
