How much ammo can the U.S keep sending Ukraine?

I'd rather be realistic and achieve an imperfect peace that allows us time to really reinforce NATO's umbrella than to exhaust everything trying to achieve something that's unlikely to happen. Russia is going to take some part of Ukraine, barring massive and immediate upticks in sending the really high-powered shit that Ukraine needs to drive Russia out of Ukraine entirely. I don't see that happening, unfortunately.
We're not even at half time yet, and you're calling the game?

Nice try. My post was entirely germane to the thread. Yours was not. Afghanistan and Iraq have nothing to do with this thread.

Bucky posted that the Chinese were honestly trying to broker peace in Ukraine, but we know at the same time they are supplying ammo to the Russians through through a third party which is North Korea. That's naive or even willfully ignorance.
Your post was ****ing stupid

Horseshit
You can’t really believe that
I do. I believe that the DoD spends funds in ways that they didn't correctly represent in their budget request, so they "lose" it.

I believe this because I know this. I know this because I've seen it happen. It's how shit gets done.

That’s how money gets wasted
Lack of accountability is always very, very bad

Depends on what you call waste, I guess.
I’ve seen so much waste by the military over the years, especially for equipment that was unneeded, or was unbelievably over budget and years late, and still worked like shit.
There are hundreds of examples of that crap
Their constant inability to get needed equipment to the troops in battle especially pisses me off - the inability to get good M9 pistol mags to Afghanistan, or sufficient armor on Humvees.
The troops should always come first, but they do not.
My disgust for the Pentagon is based upon historical facts, not just a bullshit opinion.

That sort of thing is mostly on the part of the MIC, if we're gonna be perfectly honest about it.

The classic example is the Sergeant York AA vehicle. The company that made it (Ford Aerospace) had sunk a ton of money into it, and didn't want to walk away, even though it didn't work.

In that case, they got caught faking a test.

This is what happens when the military is told to use civilian contractors as their logistics.

I'm saying completely removing Russia from Ukraine is going to be extremely difficult. I don't think we're on pace to achieve that, but would love to be proven wrong.

Well, yes, but we didn't quit on supplying Britain in 1940, and this is far less difficult than that was.

start talks.. any kind of talks.. that's a potential off ramp for Putin

Didn't China recently propose a plan for peace? Has Putin agreed to talks regarding that?

As a condition for talks, the Kremlin demands that Ukraine cede the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts to Russia.

As the Kremlin well knows, such a demand is a non-starter.

The reality is that Ukraine can't defeat Russia by itself. It needs a lot of outside assistance. That assistance is conditional, whether Zelenskyy likes that or not.

You don't know the Ukrainians like I know them.

Partisan warfare will continue for decades if need be and the blood letting will include Russian cities.

I highly doubt that would happen for long.

A little triggered are we? :ROFLMAO: And you know better. You know anyone that thinks China wants to be a peacemaker while supplying ammo to Russia is naive or willfully ignorant.

You're not even trying to be coherent. You're just ranting.

That shows your unfamiliarity with the situation.

The border is open in many places. 17% of Ukrainians speak Russian as a first language.

And many Ukrainians have family and relatives living in Russia. Compatriots so to speak.

Even as I write this, attacks are happening almost every day in Russia against military/energy targets.

The targeting can change. Let the Russia people get to know fear like the Ukrainians know it.

Fair enough

More stupid, worthless, ignorant posting
Coherent folks don’t post stupid ****ing terms like triggered in the wrong context because they do not understand the actual meaning.

I wonder what the actual, normal Russian people actually think about the war.
If they believe Putins propaganda, then they are either scared or stupid.

The China plan isnt much, and it's like if the USA were holding talks - need a neutral party.

The China proposal (unsurprisingly) seems to be more about China than Europe, but I thought it might qualify under "start talks.. any kind of talks.." One side appears more willing to at least meet to begin a dialogue. Although based on the stated positions of each side, there doesn't really seem to be much to talk about.

I'm not sure who would qualify as a neutral party, or what they might say to move the parties closer together.

Hands down no one in the forum comes close to your familiarity with Russia and Ukraine. Hopefully there is a way out of everlasting war over there.
