...He also left me a Springfield .30/.40 Krag that MAY have been used in Spanish American War...
You're the 1st person I've ever encountered - online, never mind in the flesh - with a .30/.40 Krag-Jørgensen . The one I have was also left to me by my dad; he brought down a ton of deer & elk with that rifle (and lo, did lefties clutch their pearls over innocent Bambis slaughtered by a weapon of war).

Let your cats loose on 'em. We have a female Maine coon that singlehandedly eradicated a whole family of gophers a couple years ago. Moles may be harder for cats to stalk and kill though.....
I'd love to, as would the cats. Unfortunately we don't allow our cats to roam free anymore due to coyote and bobcat populations in the area. That's why we built The Cat Shack.

Maine Coons are awesome, I'd love to have one of those, but we're at six cats, and that's our limit.

Between my wife and I we own 16.
3 shotguns
2 AR's. One in .556 and one .50 Beowulf
1 PCC
2 hunting rifles. One is 6.5 the other .338 WM
1 .22 rifle. It's a Winchester 1890. Family heirloom.
2 revolvers
5 automatic pistols of varying sizes and calibers.
Last one purchased was a Springfield Prodigy Couldn't pass up $300 off during the grand opening of the new Scheels that opened up near me.

Yeah I'd say 6 is enough lol.

Yeah they aren't well known in these days. A cousin (my uncle recently passed away) has a 6.5x55 Norwegian in the Krag action that GrandDa had.

It looked somewhat like this

My 30/40 looks like this (carbine) except mine doesn't have the fancy stock and looks more like a military issue weapon.

I put the links because the images were too large for the site.

Both had a rear sight similar, but not exactly like this one.

No, that I think that the biggest threat to my life in the past few years came from the GOP and MAGA...not the gangbangers of Baltimore. When you realize that the criminal element is highly unlikely to take an active role to hurting you, but through experience you find that members of MAGA were willing to do so are the terms I think in.

In the past 25 years of living in Baltimore, criminals never bothered me. In the past two and half years I have been the target of an organized intimidation effort, I have been accosted on the street when in support of a liberal event (legal) by MAGA and I have had to train employees on how to deal with MAGA-mites who come into the store looking to start something.

The worst thing a criminal has done to me while in Baltimore is to break into my car and stole some CD's. I have to worry on an almost daily basis about physical confrontations from MAGA.

If anyone is being partisan...it's MAGA.
Well said, they are the biggest violent threat these days in America, not street gangs or foreign terrorists. Homegrown rightwing magat extremists, we've seen their work too many times in recent years. American trash.

Oh what the hell...

2 Remington Model 11, 12 gauge shotguns

There's an awful lot of guns being lost in boating accidents :sneaky:

I feel silly. I had no idea that people were joking until about the 4th time. Then I'm like, hang on now... Tricksters!

Most I've ever owned at a time is 5. Currently 1, hopefully getting an AR in a few months.
They regularly have AR-15s on sale at Rural King for $379 to $399.

Perfect. I lost all of mine to the water several times.

Curious to see how many gun owners there are here, on what I perceive to be a very left leaning pro gun control platform.

I own 12. More than I need, less than I want. I may be getting back to lucky 13, as my daughter is making noises about repatriating the Makarov I gave her when she got her own place. She prefers her more recently acquired Sig & hasn't fired the Mak in quite some time. I've urged her to keep the Mak as a backup, but wouldn't mind having it back. It's awfully fun to shoot.
In this house:
2 shotguns for birds
2 rifles for deer
1 rifle for bear
1 rifle for moose
2 air rifles for squirrels, chipmonks, rats and acorns
4 or 5 rifles for competitive cast bullet matches.
a pistol
1 rifle to lend to the grandsons.

My .22 for starlings, jays and chipmonks

I really like long distance shooting but it's hard to find a place open at night or in inclement weather. I once did the unofficial 1000 yards on $1,000 challenge. Only landed 1 round but it was satisfying. I think for an AR I'd want a 20"-22" barrel and maybe chambered in 7.62. I wouldn't expect to hit 1000 yards with it but 500-600 should be just fine. What do you think?

Walther PPQ M2 .40
Beretta 96a1 .40
Typhoon Defense Industries X12 12Ga( I like that it uses a mag)
An Original Henry Iron Frame in 44/40 that my GradDa owned. I was his favorite
He also left me a Springfield .30/.40 Krag that MAY have been used in Spanish American War
I recently bought a Henry Long Ranger in .243

My handguns are in 2 (bedroom, living room) Safewell QV0113EF Biometric gun safes

The long guns are in a Vaultek RS500i Biometric standing safe along with my munitions..

All my weapons are registered and I have a concealed carry permit.
You go girl. 👌

The 7.62 is a good round and your barrel lengths are good.
You have to be careful buying 7.62 AR mags because of the nomenclature of the round the mags need to be very curved. Cheap mags will induce many failures.
I prefer black stainless steel mags. They fit better and load and eject perfectly.
Aluminum mag lips will distort very easily, and polymer mags can be very tight.
gunmagwarehouse.com is an excellent source for all mags.
My ARs are in 3 caliber’s - 5.56, .223 Wylde, and.300 Blackout. I built all of them myself.
Anyways have an AR in 5.56 or .223 Wylde as .223 ammo is relatively cheap and widely available.
We consider 150~250 yards for our shooting as it is a good range for defense of our rural property.
Good balance is achieved with a good shotgun and a good handgun as well.
We have multiple calibers, and currently have probably 6,000 rounds at the house.
You might also consider an AR-10 in .308, which is an excellent platform and also a NATO round.
That is our next rifle.

I hadn't considered .308, that's a real good suggestion. Thanks! I don't reload, do you? What do think of using standard SAMI pressures for distance plinking with a .308?

These days the high price and low availability of gunpowder and primers eliminates any cost advantage.
Standard pressure is always best.
However, all my carry ammo are +P hollow points.
buffalobore.com has some wicked ammo. 😁
ammoman.com for ammo purchase at good prices.

If you really want to kick some ass, get a 30-06.
I snagged a good bolt action 3 or 4 months ago.
That’s been on my wish list for years.
Amazing weapon.
Ammo is easily available.

no way would I list my guns on an internet forum !

I want ya'll to think I have zero

I really don't see a big problem. There are gun forums with hundreds or even thousands of posters discussing the guns they own.

He's just signaling that he's got an arsenal. Because the gubbermint.

Regardless, I think that some of the posters on here have illustrated the problem with using polls to determine gun ownership rates.

The right-wing also equate gun ownership with the amount of testicles they have. So when people they have 'none' they can laugh at the soy boy. Anyways, I don't really take someone seriously when they admit to having an arsenal. Because 99% of the time they will be against the tyrannical gubbermint while supporting Trump.
