In the vast, vast, vast majority of cases, there is simply no point. They do not believe in anything. Those were among some of the first videos of his I watched about a year ago. It made me stop and take notice of him and give him more of a listen. That and his takes on anime and video games. Those were pretty solid.

Immigration officials in Tucson arrested the 19-year-old man from Albuquerque on April 8, saying he had entered the country illegally, before a judge dismissed his case on April 17.

A 19 year old American citizen was detained of ten days. Days. Not hours. Ten days.


19-year-old Jose Hermosillo, who is visiting Tucson from Albuquerque, says he was lost and walking near the Border Patrol headquarters when an agent arrested him for illegally entering the country. Hermosillo was not carrying identification.

Court documents say a Border Patrol agent arrested Hermosillo “at or near Nogales, Arizona, without proper immigration documents” and that Hermosillo admitted to illegally entering the U.S.

Hermosillo and his girlfriend, who have a 9-month-old child together, live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and are visiting family in Tucson. He says he has never been to Nogales.

The Agent who made that report and lied like that should be fired and prosecuted for making a false official statement. But he won’t be. Because. Umm. America!

But we don't then say we can't look for those who commit murder, burglarize etc.

This is institutional from the top down. I.C.E. needs to be abolished and every single agent fired and blacklisted from government service. They are all un-American scum.

Maybe the agent did indeed lie about what was said.

The story also said that "later" the family brought his ID and birth certificate to where he was detained.
The story doesn't state how much "later."

What are you talking about? Did you even read the OP, GIJane? An American citizen was literally arrested and held by ICE in detention for ten days. And the arresting agent lied about it in Court documents saying this young citizen admitted to the agent he entered the country illegally entering from a city he has never been to. Which means this agent has almost certainly repeated the same or similar lies hundreds, if not thousands of times before.

This is institutional rot, at a level akin to stage four metastatic cancer. Everything within the organization is cancer at this point. From leadership, down through the administration, down to the individual agents. ICE as an organization needs to be abolished and all of its officers terminated from government service. They are too compromised and corrupt.

I feel that way about our government, and Congress in general.

True enough. However the Officers in question faced penalties. An example, if a cop is caught putting forth false reports, if not fired then they end up on the Brady List. That means only a suicidal District Attorney would put them up on the stand since the record shows they lied before.

The system is designed one way, and operates another way the officers, or in this case the agents, police the people. The supervisors are supposed to police, the police.

The American System is designed where everyone answers to someone else. The Deputy Sheriff answers to the Sheriff. The Sheriff answers to the Voters, and other LEO’s. Now with the **** their rights crowd in charge, nobody is answering to anyone.

In this particular situation, the suspected alien went to court and showed that he is a citizen.

Unless you want to suggest that somebody in the court system misrepresented what the ICE agent said what Heemasillo said.

One thing my Dad (WWII veteran) was very very proud about us (was?) how we didn't have to carry identify cards. I often don't carry any with me and never thought a second about it if I wasn't driving.

Maybe even the conservative members of SCOTUS think the same.

No I am implying that the outrage in the OP may have been the result of a delay in identifying who the person actually was.
