I once heard an attorney and a police officer discussing this very topic. Their consensus was "Never, ever carry on a discussion with any law enforcement officer without a lawyer present, particularly if the officer initiates the conversation without any apparent reason."

The reason is simple: You don't know what the cop is thinking. For all you know, he is fishing for a reason to detain you. You may inadvertantly give him that reason.

I have to ask, how exactly do you know this, Lutherf? Does your job involve you working with ICE and/or follow the actions of their officers and agents regularly?

I don't work with ICE now but I did work with CBP out of Puerto Rico in the early 90s tracking and apprehending (and frequently rescuing) Dominicans. Aside from being unconstitutional it's simply impractical to just stop anyone and ask for ID. We've got right around a million people in Pima County and right around 40% of them have Hispanic heritage. It would be a complete waste of time to just stop random people and ask for ID.

And the arresting agent lied about it in Court documents saying this young citizen admitted to the agent he entered the country illegally entering from a city he has never been to. Which means this agent has almost certainly repeated the same or similar lies hundreds, if not thousands of times before.

This is institutional rot, at a level akin to stage four metastatic cancer. Everything within the organization is cancer at this point. From leadership, down through the administration, down to the individual agents. ICE as an organization needs to be abolished and all of its officers terminated from government service. They are too compromised and corrupt.

Lemme ask you this? Would there be these types of issues if Biden, his staff, the MSM, and people like you who defended open borders hadn't let it happen? The answer is a big fat no. All this lies at the feet of Joe "I need a nap" Biden. Trump probably wouldn't be POTUS, there wouldn't be issues with ICE or illegal immigrants? Joe "where's my cut" Biden was the issue.


Another example how dysfunctional the Biden plan was. He, Kamala, and the rest all kept blaming all the border issues on not having a "border bill". Yet Trump shut down the border with no bill using laws ALREADY ON THE BOOKS. Who'da thunk it?

Yes, mistakes have been made, but those mistakes pale in comparison to the mess Biden created. Where were you and "due process" when Obama deported millions? Where were you and "due process" when Clinton deported millions? It's all about who is doing the deporting. Your guy? Oh that's fine. Not your guy? HANG HIM. Don't you really think in all those people deported by Obama and Clinton that a small minority, MIGHT have been mistakes?

Biden managed to deport more Illegals while following the rules. Why? Biden and the Democrats don’t view the rules as stupid.

I can only assume you were given social promotions and graduated school that way. Otherwise you had the worst civics teacher in history. Because if you had studied Civics you would know why those Amendments were included in the Constitution and why they are so vital to our nation.

Nothing dumb about it. People forget, or even intentionally leave behind, their wallets/IDs all the time when they go out in public.

You know what's dumb? Detaining an American citizen for 10 days when his citizenship could be verified within 24 hours. But of course the 'small government' conservatives aren't going to be critical of government when it's only affecting a group they don't identify with. Empathy? What's that??
