How liberals bend backwards making fools of themselves

The left seeks to create victims. Intentionally or as a rag doll tossed to the side of failed leftist promises.

Funny, every day here I see another thread crying about how conservatives are being victimized again. Damn, American conservatives sound like they're being shat upon (from a great height) every time Obama drives off the tee.

Its still true, even more so that liberals can't recognize evil. So one guy (a comedian) states the truth and its supposed to be a game changer? Please.

Do you ever get tired of this crap? You're making a fool out of yourself.

Yes, Christians are truly the real victims of persecution in America.

Hard to believe that Christianity isn't being elbowed off of the public square. Sure seems like they are.

Last thing that I recall, a football team was prohibited from placing a cross sticker on their helmets in commemoration of some that they'd recently lost.

No, I really think the excessively PC really is out to get them.

I think there's a greater movement to push religion in general out of not necessarily the public square, but the state-sanctioned one, and occasionally it manifests itself in absurd ways like the helmet stickers.

That, however, is not persecution or "hate for Christians," as US Conservative so absurdly claimed he experiences.

Conservatives ARE being targeted-take the IRS, but they aren't victims. Now heres the news, when the dems lose the senate we are going to find out the truth, I guarantee you that.

Everyone knows this, that was the INTENT of PC. Dont like the Presidents policies? You are racist! See how nuanced the left is?

We can only hope. And we can only that policies and procedures are put into place that will prevent it in the future, against all political groups fairly and equally.

Absolutely. We dont need to turn this nation into a thugocracy. The dems have stood by stunningly defensing this crap. The best disinfectant is sunshine, and we have an illness called liberalism. Time to clean up.

The truth? You can't handle the truth!

The fact that you think the "illness" in this country is "liberalism" rather than entrenched party politics just illustrates your complete lack of understanding of our problems in Washington.

But you've already made it clear how you think. Republicans good, Democrats bad, and anything you don't like is "liberal."

It sounds like you are saying that Bill Maher's witty humor, and his ability to cut through republican BS infuriates many conservatives, including you.

No.

I'm saying that his presentations are designed to do that.

Liberals politicize everything so if you admit the problem is politics you are admitting the problem is the left. Agreed.

Liberals politicize everything

Stopped reading there.

Are you claiming that conservatives don't politicize everything? If so, give me some time to stop laughing. I'll need an hour or so.

If so, and I'm not totally convinced that it is, what of all the accommodation for Islam that I keep hearing about?

If so, and I'm not totally convinced that it is, are we really certain that this is the best course for our society?
Seems to me that there are quite a number of people that could do with a better moral compass, something that religious teachings tend to provide.

Such as?

Morality is not exclusive to religion. There are plenty of irreligious people who live perfectly fine existences; there are plenty of ostensibly religious people who do some really crappy crap.

Seen them reported in the news. Next time, I'll post about it for you.

Sure. But isn't the real question if greater guidance and reinforcement in this matter would benefit some or many people?

How would it? Plastering the Ten Commandments, say, on government property is going to make people stop breaking the law?

Central Valley, near Fresno.

We have a lot of Christian churches here. We have a lot of Sikh temples as well. Do people in Fullerton really hate Christians?

The central valley is very different. Large number of migrants, and conservative farmers. Going to be up in Sacramento and Placerville next week, hope its cooled off a bit.

Yes, the culture is a bit different than it is in the cities. People tend to be a lot more conservative than they are in the cities. Still, it's hard to believe that people there really hate Christians.

Yes, let's hope for your sake that it has cooled off some by then, and that they've put that fire out.

Do yourself a favor and stay out of west LA, its almost as bad as the bay area.

Glad to see a leftist finally admit where evil lay? After twenty-years of calling the West evil, Maher finally wakes up to see true evil. Better late than never, one supposes. But, where is the rest of the left? Still supporting evil...

Bill Maher is not the left.

He's an idiot, a bonafide idiot. Proof being his moronic documentary religioulus.

How would it? Plastering the Ten Commandments, say, on government property is going to make people stop breaking the law?

It might for some. Of course it might not for some other as well. I'd defer to the voters of the locale of the building to decide if they wanted it or not. Further, equal access for other major religions should probably be allowed and accepted. How the voters of the locale wanted to handle this would be up them.

Nearly all the old buildings in DC, and nearly all the old documents, have a generic, non-denominational reference to God. Doesn't elbowing that off represent a loss of historical context? A loss of the founding roots of the Republic? If you don't know where you've been, you don't know where you're going.

Certainly elbowing off any source of moral guidance from the public square certainly isn't going to make things any better.
(Yes, I know that we likely disagree on which square it's being elbowed off of - but that's OK).

Let me just say, when it comes to one political beliefs whether one is conservative or liberal, the other belief always seems foolish and lacking in common sense. It all depends on what color of glasses you are looking at the world from, red or blue tint.
