What was the reason for strikes in the 1950's, and since then?
More wages, but that was doable when the government wasn’t importing a new workforce to reduce wages. Now the government is and wages have gone down while housing has gone up,

Here we go with the Great Replacement Theory racist trash again.
It’s not a theory, leftists openly admit it. See the book “the emerging democratic majority”

Virtually nobody died from COVID, that’s why medical examiners had to fabricate COVID deaths from gunshot wounds and car accidents
There there. I lost friends due to Covid. Real.

Unless they were over the average age of life expectancy or very unhealthy no one died And the policy of subordinating the population to the least healthy 5% was bad for all of society. What we saw was chronically unhealthy people who maybe died because of their preexisting conditions when they got COVID

I lost two employees that were not only pretty much irreplaceable, but were also my friends.

The reason workers are not paid well is because of mass foreign replacement of the American population and unless they plan to strike for an immigration moratorium that won’t end
I get it, you are very afraid of Hispanics living as citizens in the United States of America. You must be so torn between fear and hatred, LOL. Senseless racist reply from you as usual, make more room under your cot for more scary boogeymen. 🤣

Didn't he once claim he was "courting" a Hispanic woman?

No, I am not, I am married to one. However the majority of foreign citizens in America are not Hispanics and in any event most of tjem Don’t want wage competition either. There is no need to relitigate who is already here, but bringing in over a million new people a year keeps wages down which is why big corporations advocate for it

can’t count how many times I’ve had to work during Canadian wildfires that blanketed my area with smoke, along with the 2020 Oregon fires. You need only a respirator you can buy at Lowes. For 30 dollars

It’s not a big deal
And there is the right wing take on everything, in a nutshell.

"I was fine!"

Good for you.

Don't be ridiculous. The government isn't importing anyone. That's just what stupid people tell each other.
Wages started going down when companies started relocating to "right-to-work" states in the south, went down further when the companies relocated to maquiladora zones in Mexico and have bottomed out since corporations relocated to Thailand and Sri Lanka.

Yes, they are. In America there is a whole network of organizations that exist to pay for fake asylum claims and facilitate fraudulent refugees cases in America.

So that’s partially free trade, but also immigration. Amazon was caught on company emails openly saying the best way to prevent unionization was diversity, and that is true, most successful labor unions were ethnic and it’s not a shock that non discrimination laws helped destroy labor as a force. Amazon routinely does this song and dance where they here Americans, fire them for dumb reasons, then claim to CIS they can’t hire workers and need foreign workers

If you're not lying, I feel sorry for the "one of them" who you refer to. White Grievance seeps from your pores into your posts, you can't hide your ass, you've already shown it too often. You're in the Make America WHITE Again Pearl Clutcher's Club.

Well when I showed up at my local, I voted to strike.

Really we've got all the regional contracts done, but two I think, and we still need the air rider for the World Port where I work.

Last I herd UPS doesn't want to give us pay for riding the shuttle around the World Port. They get me for an hour a day in waiting for the shuttle and riding it.

I think the other sticking point was more full time jobs, as most of us are only 3 hour or 6 hour employees.

It would be nice to get some heat in the building I work in, but I'm sure that's too much to ask. I mean the day before Christmas it was -15 inside the building all night.

I wonder why almost no one showed up to work that night on one of the busiest shipping days of the year. They did pay a $150 bonus for those of us that worked that night.

Still, we didn't get much done and the day after Christmas was a shit show.

I don't think there will be a strike, we have until Aug. 1st. Strike vote was for leverage, see how many yes votes we can get and take that to the table.

We should get the results June 16th, so we'll see........

BTW, I had to show I.D. to vote, funny for a union that always backs Democrats that say voter ID laws a racist.🤣

Why are they striking?

They are talking about striking because they use to have a good paying job, but 20 years of their unions being a supreme example of hierarchy corruption by management, claw back through contract negations where the fix was in, increases in work demands that don’t allow for bathroom stops and has delivery people peeing in bottles on the trucks, no AC in the brown tin cans so that internal temperatures reach 120 or more disrupt summer days and freeze in the Winter. They’ve had it.

UPS is making record profits from their labor and the drivers see no profit sharing for their productivity.

UPS use to be a pretty good company to work for, but that was a long time ago.

As long as it isn’t the USPS, UPS can do as they like. If by chance I need to send or receive a package and I don’t use USPS, there’s always FEDEX and DHL. No biggie one way or the other.
