How congress spends your money

Congress doesn’t spend your money to help you - it spends it to help itself. Every dollar they hand out is about getting re elected, paying back donors, or buying loyalty. Like or not, lobbyists are the ones steering the ship, making sure the money lands where it benefits them the most. Even when some government project sounds like a good idea, it’s usually picked because it helps some politician’s career, not because it’s the best move for the country.

In Washington, money isn’t used to fix problems - it’s used to buy favors, cut deals, and stay in power. In the end congress spends your money the same way a thief spends your wallet: for their own benefit, not yours.
So, what is your solution or alternative? We know the libertarian fantasy utopia has never existed in human history. So what is your suggestion for a country the size of the US with over 330,000,000 people? Show us an example of a society in all of human history this large that works without a government. I know you like to run away from this when you are forced to face reality, but maybe try giving it a stab this time?

Well that's a total lie.

Infrastructure
Fighting disease
The military
Helping families who struggle
Unemployment benefits

And that's just to name a few.
According to the OP, those are the byproducts. The theory is that politicians do those things to get elected and re-elected. To which, I say, "of course." Politicians support programs that make their constituents better lives, because it gives them job security. It's no different than my neighborhood supermarket that carries items that I want to buy. They aren't doing it for me, they are trying to stay in business.

The problem that I see, is when billionaire donors flush money into a politician's coffers to pass legislation against their constituent's interests.

I hate when my representative does things I and others in my community want in exchange for our votes.

Money is wasted and used for political favors. But it's also used to help build our country and strengthen the economy. The biggest government waste is on our military and defense. We have a virtually un-invadable country in addition to having a nuclear stockpile. There's no justification for how much money is spent.
