Getting challenged in the primary is more an example of what I was talking about. If people don't reflect the values of their district long enough, they get challenged. That's independence.

I can understand that view - I was more ambivalent between the last two choices, which left me with most of the important voters, especially those of us in the swing states

Mulvaney admitted it too. Look, if you're waiting for Trump to write out a handwritten confession, it's not going to happen. And even if he did, the next day he would just deny he did it, and that would be good enough for 90% of his base. They would deny it ever happened. We've seen this movie too often, we know the ending.
