Today is Friday. Tomorrow is Saturday.....
As pointed out, it was Saturday east of the Prime Meridian (0 degrees longitude).
Yeah, in the UK. But the House doesn't go by UK timezone (GMT). It goes by EST. Which is why it closed at 7PM EST on Friday and will reopen the next day at noon. IE: They closed for the day and will resume tomorrow.
The government is not normally shutdown because Congress isn’t in session. It's really with the senate at this point, not the house. The senate approved a bill, and the house made some changes (including adding the wall) and passed a bill. The senate can either vote on the house version, or head to a conference committee. Not much the house can do until the senate picks a path. They could easily approve the house bill with a simple majority, and head home for Christmas.
As for a shut down... really, we're ok. The government is effectively shut down for two weeks anyway.
The government will shutdown at midnight tonight however.
 So? If they pass something tomorrow the effect will be zero.
Of course I don't care if the government shuts down or not. It doesn't affect me.
That's pretty much what Trump said.
Thing is, it does affect hundreds of thousands of people who will either be forced to work without receiving a paycheck or be furloughed without a paycheck for an indeterminate amount of time. They are human beings and fellow American citizens who will suffer hardship because their government has failed its promise to work on their behalf.

Over 780,000 will be without pay...But you trump supporters don't care
And once the government gets back to running they get paid for the time that they worked. For those that don't work it is a simple vote to pay them for the time that they lost. It's happened before, it will happen again.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives adjourned just before 7 p.m. on Friday night (0000 GMT on Saturday), leaving the Capitol before approving government funding and thereby ensuring a government shutdown.
The House is set to return from recess at noon on Saturday.

Trump's base will erect statues of him as their hero.

The US is headed for a total shutdown if we cannot get our fiscal house in order. Shutting our border to incoming illegals is a step in the right direction.

Nah, it Christmas, let them pull themselves up by their Christmas tree branches. That presumes that this completely dysfunctional congress will actually pass legislation to pay them quickly, and the completely dysfunctional president signs it.
Meanwhile, these people will be going without any income for an indefinite time, while their bills and mortgage payments keep piling up. A bit of compassion for nearly a million fellow citizens would be appreciated.
