Highly unlikely as you have no idea what you are talking about.Wow, that's the best gloss of pure cynicism I've seen in years. Bravo.
Not sure how this is getting interpreted the way it is but the video I just watched caught to Senators talking about compromise and negotiation. This site has gotten pretty strange in the last 48 hours.
I think rather it shows two Republicans scheming to "keep saying" something they know is false in the hope of influencing public opinion over an issue about which they are using the funding of government to appease their base
Clearly you don't understand the concept of catching someone in a hot mic. Or, you're just an uber partisan. I'd wager on the latter.

You are confused as to what was said.Oh I think I understand the hot mic syndrome. People like Rand Paul actually saying the truth because they don't think the public is listening. So he and Mitch admit that maybe if they keep saying something that they know isn't true, the public might ultimately support them or at least their extremist base will and be tricked into blaming the Democrats.
Is that about right?
OK, so Rand Paul got caught admitting that this was more about winning than doing something right for America.
I don't even understand what was said. That exchange made no sense. It would help if Paul could complete a sentence before starting the next one. 4 prepositional phrases in one line which didn't even have a subject.Hot Mic Catches Rand Paul, Mitch McConnell Discussing Their Actual Government Shutdown Concerns
The total cynicism of the GOP exposed.

The thing that is most telling is Rand Paul saying "We're going to win this I think". It just shows how absolutely delusional he is!
that all depends on what they get out of the negotiations...I think it's delusional to think they won't win something.
they probably won't get everything they want, but they'll get concessions and so will Democrats.

There are not going to be any negotiations. They are losing badly in the public opinion forum. They are ultimately going to have to do damage control. It is completely delusional that they can win anything at this point unless there is a huge wave of change in public opinion which is highly unlikely.

I love his insistence that if they just "keep saying" they will negotiate, maybe the American people will notice they aren't hostage takers.
While I certainly am against what they are doing, that's not what is being said.I think rather it shows two Republicans scheming to "keep saying" something they know is false in the hope of influencing public opinion over an issue about which they are using the funding of government to appease their base
"I just did CNN and I just go over and over again 'We're willing to compromise. We're willing to negotiate.' I think... I don't think they poll tested we won't negotiate. I think it's awful for [Democrats] to say that over and over again," Paul said.
"Yeah, I do too and I, and I just came back from that two hour meeting with them and that, and that was basically the same view privately as it was publicly," McConnell agreed.
Paul added, "I think if we keep saying, 'We wanted to defund it. We fought for that and that we're willing to compromise on this', I think they can't, we're gonna, I think... well, I know we don't want to be here, but we're gonna win this, I think."
What, that negotiation's are on the table for the GOP and not Democrats? Guess you haven't been paying attention but thats actually true.
While I certainly am against what they are doing, that's not what is being said.
there will be negotiations..... of that I am confident... there are always negotiations.
yes, I know Obama has refused to negotiate with republicans... but that too will pass....sooner or later, they all negotiate.
you can only refuse to negotiate for so long before the people start to get real pissed... even if you have the high road going in, refusal to talk will turn around and bite you at the most inopportune time.
it's early in the game and all sides are still posturing...that too will pass.
The reality that you aren't facing (for whatever reason) if that there is nothing to negotiate. This thing would be over in 5 minutes if Boehner would put it to an up/down vote, but the teabaggers want to keep playing games. Why would Obama ever negotiate with that? Maybe if the Republicans weren't losing so badly in the public opinion forum, but this right now is a win/win for Obama. there is no reason to negotiate with the teabaggers.
It's exactly what he's saying. His point is "say over and over again" that they are willing to negotiate (i.e. repeat the lie), but they aren't going to negotiate. It's kill the ACA or nothing. He's admitting it. His goal is to kill the ACA and he's pretending it's negotiable in public, while conspiring with Mitch and admitting it isn't, in a rather delusional fashion: "we're gonna win this, I think." (i.e., kill the ACA)
