The fact that Rosie O’Donnell moving to Ireland is even a news story just shows obsessed Americans are with celebrity culture. It also helps explain why Trump is president (twice). Does anyone believe that he could have ever made it to the White House if he hadn’t been a well-known media/cultural figure for literally decades? More likely as not, he would have just been a White version of Herman Cain.

I think it's more that intelligent people who are sympathetic to the right have at this point realized MAGA is a cult and not even a particularly cool or aesthetic cult.

One could be forgiven for riding the MAGA train in 15/16. Maybe even 2017 for late bloomers. By now though MAGA has undeniably become an amalgamation of shlocky boomer humor and class cuckoldry for billionaires.
