I would love to see a poll of how African Americans, especially those in the bible belt feel about comparing their fight for civil rights to that of gays....I think the left would be very surprised by the results.........
Actually....I think YOU would be very surprized. Like I said, about 98% of Black Americans vote Democratic. They do so, in spite of their strong religious beliefs. How do you explain that? I believe it is because they can seperate Church/State...which many people in this Country cannot.
I would guess that if asked....Do you believe Homosexuality to be a sin? or Do you believe homosexuality is acceptable? A large number would say yes to the first and no to the second. However, Black people are not stupid. They recognize that there are people out there that try to manipulate their religious beliefs by calls such as yours to be "insulted". They reject that...and continue to support the Democratic platform.
Blacks are one of the largest majorities in gay relations, and just look at where they are today, lost, forgotten, and irrelevant, what a noble jump from what they left in Africa!
I think blacks are more concerned with advancement, gay realtions have little do to with it, they just want to be normal! These gays are not something they are proud of, in fact, they wish it was not discussed, much like the mothers with no fathers, or the welfare they depend, it's really sad!
To be accurate in the last election it was 89% and when they vote for democrats I don't think its to promote gay rights.......
I think you will start seeing most Black Americans moving away from voting democrat.......They are tired of the hollow lies and promises democrats make to get their vote and then ignore them.....
We shall see........
This post is just funny. Do you actually believe that Heterosexuals own the TV and film world?
this is two-prong funny....first....the belief that any sexual orientation can lay claim to something as "theirs"....and secondly...it fails to recognize that a large proportion, if not the majority of people in the entertainment industry are .....gulp......gay.

Martin Luther King Jr. was chosen as the principal leader of the Civil Rights Movement by white America because of his non-violence approach and his call to comformity messages

So, you see, you got it all wrong. MLK hurt the Civil Rights Movement.
Let me get this straight...MLK was CHOSEN by the Whites? I am afraid that the rest of what you say just can't be addressed until this gets cleared up.
Can you show the Vote Count and the numbers by races of the Representatives that voted please. :rofl
When I see him speaking and leading, who is following him and listening to him? Who was putting him in jail? Who tried to kill him?
I won't assume that you are Japanese, but I know from History that you are wrong, but more importantly, I would love to hear from any African Americans, even young ones from today, and hear what they have to say.

His logic is flawed. There, you heard it from a 20 year old black guy. He's probably one of those black people(I think he's black) that thinks that it was white people who killed Malcom X.
Yes, MLk is honoured and remembered by whites, as well as blacks as the principal leader of the Civil Rights Movement, however, he was chosen and supported by "whites" who believed in what he stood for and because he believed in non-violence. He was shot and killed by a white man because people started listing to him. Former president Kennedy, Steven Curry, Belfonte, just to name a few, who admired him and believed in his point of view. But when we asserted Pan-Africanism or Black Nationalism and independents then those message were regarded as dangerous and so people like Mr. X were shunned and considered violent when he never advocated violence to begin with ( of course self-defense is another thing).
Black Americans supported MLK because he was black and because his message was good in principle, however, blacks were not the chief benefactors in the end. Today, blacks are still at the bottom of the wrung in terms of jobs and education. Many are incarcerated, very few blacks - especially black males-seldom graduate college, 70 to 80% of our children are fatherless, there is a huge gap between rich blacks and poor blacks; very small middle class.
MLK's dream has already been realized, it's just we haven't benefitted much from it. (" I guess of a little white girl and a little black boy can play in the same sand box together then everything is okay").
Thanks for the support black man. It's always good to know when your own sticks you in the back. Your logic is flawed just like the rest of the people on this board who put the cart before the horse.
There would be no MLK if it weren't for the sacrifices that were made by so many other blacks before him.
MLK was chosen by "White America" to lead the Civil Rights Movement because he contained you and kept you subserviant mentally to your white oppressors. He preached inclusion when what he should've been preaching was reparations and and independence.
Where we are at today is a direct result of his teachings--passive, non-resistant, lazy, and most of all , stupid.
You're black right? You and I are deff. going to butt heads on this one. I wont disagree with you that black people aren't exacly even with whites in this country. However in this day and age if you're 15 and you decide you'd rather be selling drugs then going to school. The fault is yours. Not that of white people. Black youth in this country are in some cases throwing away all the chances our grandparents didn't get or even our parents. If you'd rather play ball then become a doctor. Dont blame white people when you brake your leg and ruin your chances to play again.
Why is it people feel the need to blame somebody whenever they go to jail? If you get caught with coke on you. You're not going to jail cause you're black/white/hispanic. You're going to jail because you had drugs on you. It's against the law. Bitch about it all you want but you're still in the wrong.
You mentioned that 70%-80%(it's actually 71%) of all black kids are fatherless. How is that white peoples fault? Considering for a minute that 50% of America is currently divorcing how the hell is it their fault that some black men dont have enough courage to father the babies they make? If you dont like kids. Dont have sex without condoms. Easy as that. Bill Cosby said it. If you screw up. It aint somebody else's fault. It's yours. You screwed up. Not them.
There is a correlation between the Civil Rights Movement and present day black society, you're just not seeing it. Many of these issues are systemic from years of oppression and other socio-economic reasons. If a kid sells drugs, it's usually for money, why ? Because black rappers demonize our women on MTV making them out to be loose whores who like guys with fast cars and lots of money. These black rappers get record labels through rich white music companies to promote their filth on T.V. Young blacks see this on T.V. and want to emulate this. Those actions and behaviour didn't come from their parents, but from a society who craves sex and violence. White youth love this kind of music too !
71% of black homes are fatherless. That could have something to do with jobs and lack of education which could stem from years of being told you couldn't do something. I don't know.
When you exonerate white people, you wipe their slate clean of past wrong doings. It was their policies through Jim Crow that oppressed and humiliated generations of blacks, and we are still feeling the bitter sting of racism to this very day. When blacks starting getting their first taste of real prosperity around the 70's i.e. full time, jobs, cars...(it wasn't until the 80's when home ownership really kicked in for blacks especially single mothers) we got in hurry to compete and forgot all about the Struggle. We wanted to be like our white oppressors.
We started going down hill from there.

Thanks for the support black man. Racist
It's always good to know when your own sticks you in the back. Drama Queen Your logic is flawed just like the rest of the people on this board who put the cart before the horse. Look to yourself before accusing others. Wisdom is in recognizing ones own flaws
There would be no MLK if it weren't for the sacrifices that were made by so many other blacks before him. No **** Brother? MLK was chosen by "White America" to lead the Civil Rights Movement Nope, he was accepted by African Americans as well as White America...get it straight... because he contained you and kept you subserviant mentally to your white oppressors. Looks like you see what you WANT to see IMO...Because you are a racist by all accounts thus farHe preached inclusion when what he should've been preaching was reparations and and independence. Thank you Marcus Garvey!
Where we are at today is a direct result of his teachings--passive, non-resistant, lazy, and most of all , stupid.
I think the civil rights movement was for everyone.
Get violent then!
Reparations!
Independence!
Back to Africa!
Black is Beautiful!!
