You're doing the same thing some Americans do regarding other countries. And it's really a display of a lack of scientific discipline. We do not presume that one instance captured on film or as a sample automatically represents the status quo or state of the system at all times. Basically, you're using anecdotal evidence to draw a conclusion.
Things you are failing to consider:
1. The videos are of the most egregious violations of the public trust and professionalism. They are not the norm, they are the exception.
2. Cops in other countries are a million times less likely to be shot in a common encounter or arrest.
YouTube can't convey to you what it's like to live in America with guns as common as they are. YouTube can't even give me, an American, a true sense of what it's like to be a cop and deal with that stress. I could not be a cop. I would not be able to deal with the stress of pulling someone over for a ticket requiring military approach procedure because one's life might be about to end. It's unpaid and thankless. Cops are like teachers.
Do we have more aggressive rules of engagement? Yes. Do cops cross the line? Yes.
But that doesn't mean that we have failed to find a just solution in our standards. Your vitriol is, as you would not deny, from a place of ignorance.
Do many Americans believe the rules of engagement are too loose and cops are too aggressive in general? Yes.
Do we have a problem with police brutality? Yes.
Are these things being addressed in our police departments and their corresponding communities? Yes.
Thus, your characterization of us as in some way uncivilized is no better than when Americans do it to others. The irony is, of course, that your error came at the end of a well said condemnation of exactly that. It's like you tried to provide an example, it was even emotionally charged.
That you then support your errant and demonizing perspective with YouTube is laughably typical of not only Americans. Your attempt to support your mischaracterization with YouTube was exhibit B in my claim that you're coming from ignorance. I wasn't asking, I was presenting evidence of my claim.

Its not a stretch at all. It is LITERALLY factual.Then what is my character then based solely on my feeling on those two symbols? For all you know, I could be a god-fearin', gun lovin', red blooded American. Feelings on symbols has absolutely no bearing on one's character.

And that is exactly my point. Do you consider yours, or Vancemack's feelings on the National symbols (in this case the flag and the anthem) more valid than my own apathy to the flag and the anthem? Or to someone who sees those before mentioned symbols with contempt?
